But it's apparently a meaningless long reign that will mean absolutely nothing and will be forgotten as soon as it's over.

It's strange that the last 3 title runs that went over 100 days have just sorta felt flat. It really sucks since I tend to enjoy long title reigns. I think the last one that was kind of enjoyable was Orton's in 2007.

I'd like to see Punk hold it until at least SummerSlam.

I'd like to see Punk hold it until at least SummerSlam. Me too. I have a horrible feeling he'll lose it to Big Show, who'll get one last heel title run before finally retiring. I can see that being the case.

Triple H only held it for 210 days?! His longest reign. He has a combined total of like 500+ days. But his 210 day reign was TERRIBLE.

Safe to say ALL their long reigns were the main focus of the shows. This one.... not so much, but at least it is still 189+ and counting.

Was it the one in '08, when he was going up against the likes Of Khali and Kozlov on PPV? If so then yes, that sucked for the most part. Even with Brian Kendrick briefly in the title picture.

A lot of the guys he feuded with were midcarders as well, and like Punk, he wasn't the absolute focal point of WWE at the time either (he shared a spotlight with Brock, and then Goldberg later). But partly due to HHH not being 100% during the Reign of Terror, Punk's matches have been far better in comparison.

Yeah, by 2008...Triple H did not need the belt, much less a long title reign while feuding with the likes of Kozlov and Khali. On top of that, he only dropped the belt for a couple of months before winning the title again and putting on one of the most anti-climatic WM main events I have ever seen.

He won it from Orton at Backlash 2004 and kept it until Edge defeated him in the 3 way match with Kozlov. In between he faced, Orton twice, Cena, Edge, Khali, The Championship Scramble and Jeff Hardy in between. There's your 210 day run in a nutshell.

Whether it's Summerslam or Survivor Series, I hope it at least picks up a little bit. Don't get me wrong, the matches have been great, but the feuds have either been non-existent or downright comically sinister.

I think that'll have to be next year Brock winning the title at Summerslam would mean he'd have to be around for a while. I mean, we can't have the WWE champion appearing via satellite every week. With that considered, I wouldn't mind a mini Bryan reign before then. Even if its transitional.

Well, to recap, here's his reign, but before I start, anyone else think that he should've just had kept the title since MITB 2011, without tranisitional runs to Mysterio, Cena, and Del Rio. He would be around 300 days right now, if that were the case. It seems his current gimmick needs the WWE title more than anything else.
Punk reign:
Def. Del Rio at Survivor Series to win the WWE Championship
Def. Del Rio and Miz at TLC to retain
Def. Ziggler at Royal Rumble to retain
Def. The Miz, Jericho, Kingston, R-Truth and Ziggler at Elimination Chamber to retain
Def. Jericho at Wrestlemania XXVIII to retain
Def. Jericho at Extreme Rules to retain
Def. Bryan at Over The Limit to retain
While the feuds may have sucked, at least this title run delievered in ring, where it matters.

Well, I think the Survivor Series win was a cool addition to his legacy, so had we not had Del Rio and Cena flopping the title back and forth as well as kept running with Punk as he was gaining momentum, I wouldn't necessarily mind the cash-in loss at Summerslam.

I agree only for the fact Howard Finkel introducted him and announced him as NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WWE Champion........C..........M............. PUNK! That was a mark out moment indeed.
