Web not coming back for the sequel? Tarsem?! The man who brought us such classics as The Cell, Mirror Mirror, and The Immortals? I understand that some directors like Jon Favreau can surprise us when doing a superhero movie, but this is ridiculous. While Tarsem isn't the first person I'd think of to do a comic book film, he certainly has more of a recognizable visual style unlike someone like Favreau. Perhaps too much of one for the industrial, standardized nature of Hollywood superhero comic book cinema, since I have no idea if Tarsem lands the job how he will work in a Tarkovsky reference and an image of a horse like he does in his other films. And I say this as a Tarsem fan.

Haven't seen The Cell or The Immortals. Might be interesting to see what he does with something more conventional. It will be pretty if nothing else.

I recall the Maguire Spidey made wise cracks too, why do people act like he didn't? The games based on the movies were filled with quips.

I can recall exactly one quip in the first Spider-Man, and none whatsoever in the other two. Spidey and Green Goblin are arguing in front of J. Jonah Jameson. JJJ starts to yell something, Spidey webs his mouth and says something like "Quiet son, mommy and daddy are talking."

Did your husband make it?" "You have a knack for needing rescue." "I'm pulling the plug." (a captain obvious moment responding to Octavius) "I have a knack for that." (another response to Ock) "I'm sheriff around these parts." "Where do these guys come from?"

I liked it. Not as much as I did The Avengers, of course, but it was still pretty good.

Was awesome, our movie burned during the credits and me and my crew all got a free pass to Dark Knight.

Great movie, a few hiccups here and there (Lizard CGI, less-than-stellar final battle) but all and all, a fun blockbuster. Garfield and Stone run miles over Maguire and Dunst, it's not even funny. And of course, there's some definite watercooler talk to be had from the post-credits scene (yes, there is one...what did you expect from Marvel?) {Spoiler}My heart wants it to be Osborne talking to Connors in jail, but money is on Connors's assistant. Proto-Goblin perhaps? Or Electro?

Just got back from watching the movie and it was great. Amazing if you will. Our movie theater screwed something up and we ended up getting the movie in 3D. My eyes hurt but it was cool. Also spoiler alert {Spoiler}Uncle Ben dies

Seeing this on Thursday for my Psychology class. Teacher managed to convince the higher ups that The Lizard would help us understand split personality disorder better.

Saw a midnight screening last night. This was my first midnight screening since Revenge Of The Sith in 2005. Far as I'm concerned, this should have been called The Phenomenal Spider-Man, because that's what this movie was. Spider-Man was quippy, Peter was intelligent. I felt like I was finally watching a Spider-Man movie. I saw it in IMAX 3D. Theater was PACKED. I don't know if it was sold out or not, but if it wasn't, it was damn close. Sally Field is my favorite Aunt May ever. Aunt May had seemed to be always portrayed as this weak, frail, old thing. Sally Field made her come across as someone who had a spark to her, and I liked that. I liked that a lot. The fights against Lizard were incredible, with some great use of Spidey's environment, especially in the fight in the school. I want to see it again. And yes, Stan Lee's cameo was the greatest one he has yet to do, and the theater applauded it. Seeing this on Thursday for my Psychology class. Teacher managed to convince the higher ups that The Lizard would help us understand split personality disorder better. You have the greatest teacher ever.

I saw this movie earlier. I was lucky to find a seat, on the side and close to the back even. I personally liked it. Regarding the Raimi trilogy, I still have not seen the third but I don't feel like I want to. I'll just stick to the first two. Also, I knew I should have stayed for the bonus scene. Dammit!

I really hated the Mirror's Edge cam, but it was just great.
