I'm with you. It doesn't even really look that BAD IMO....I just don't care. I hate that they're rebooting the origin story. If you want to replace the actor, that's fine. But it's only been what, ten years since the original? Come on.

I'm totally the opposite, I was nonplussed about the reboot up until seeing the trailer. Now I'm completely on board. Looks like it could be great.

I'm remaining cautiously optimistic as I've been in the mood for a different flavor of live action Spider-Man films than Raimi's
At the very least the action looks good.

I was whatever on it until the last trailer I saw, which was basically Peter and Gwen being awkward in a hallway, and it was so flippin' cute that now I wanna see the movie just for that. Which is weird, because the romance is usually the part of a movie I'm least interested in.

Yeah I loved Raimi's version of the character and the movies (1 and 2, not 3), I know it wasnt faithful to the comics and I can't stand Kirsten Dunst, but other than that it worked and I thought Maguire played the role perfectly. I think the main problem outside of that is that its been less that 10 years old since the original series and im having a really hard time trying to get used to this new darker edge and an actor that im not overly fond of playing the character, Raimi's version is still fresh in my head as its hard to overlook his version of the character when it is so recent.

Its in tricky spot because its getting simultaneous complaints about being a reboot so soon (which does have precedent with Hulk -> Incredible Hulk), thus a retread of the first film but also focusing on things like Peter's parents.
I'm not sure it can win with certain people because it'll be considered too new or too old.

See I guess revisiting the Raimi films recently is another thing that swung me around ( terrible pun) into wanting the reboot. I liked the originals, still do, but looking back at 'em, they really haven't aged that well, and a new take that hopefully does away with some of the cornier elements can be a good thing.
Plus, I really liked Tobey as Peter the first time I saw all three movies, but going back to 'em; while he does a good job, he can be really, really wooden sometimes as Pete as well.

I have a feeling Garfield's Parker will be better than Toby's. That is probably because this movie will actually have Peter Parker in high school for the whole film in a high school relationship with Gwen Stacy. I am excited about The Lizard but makes me mad at the same time. Didn't Raimi and Sony disagree on using a villain as Sony didn't like the idea of having The Lizard? But this reboot is using The Lizard. What? I am optimistic, and I have feeling I will enjoy this movie than the first Spiderman. Years ago, I saw the first Spider-Man on 4th of July weekend. Now, I get to again for this one and I am excited.

I'm looking forward to it more than DKR. Super pumped for it.
My only issue is the costume, just...don't like it.

I like the jokes this new guy makes, but his voice just seems off.

I've been looking forward to it since I saw the trailer before the Avengers. Looks like it could surpass the other trilogy.

I think Tobey Maguire is a better Peter Parker, but Andrew Garfield will make a better Spider-Man.

I wanted Bill Nighy, that would have been cool. Thanks for the info man.

I loved the first 2 Raimi Spiderman flicks, the third one kinda sucked (mostly due to Sony forcing him into shoe-horning Venom into the flick, though Raimi hated the character).
But I still wish they would've kept the original cast onboard for a fourth film instead of a reboot.
I was totally against this movie until I saw the trailer, now I'm gonna give it a chance. Still not sure how well Garfield will do as Spidey and Parker. He doesn't seem nerdy enough for Parker, IMO. He looks like the kinda guy who would've gotten tons of women with or without any super powers.

To tell you the truth, I'm feeling this movie more than The Dark Knight Rises.

I think it looks good, but never been a huge Spidey fan. Still, I do intend to see it, and being sort of the obligation movie of the year isn't too bad given that's where First Class was for me and it was my favorite of last year's four.
Then there's Dark Knight Rises which.... Yeah, sure it'll be great, but I dunno. Not really feeling it, but not nearly as much hyped for it as I was Dark Knight and I really can't see it being better than Avengers.
