Just saw it and thought it was great. not as good as the first two, but i guess it goes without saying it was better than 3 only thing i didn't really like was the head of The Lizard. wish they made him look more like he does in the comics/tv shows and less like Toad in The Super Mario Bros. movie

Movie was crap.
Yes Spidey was quipy...in about two scenes, the car jacking that we have already seen a dozen times and another scene with the lizard and that is it.
Peter was a genius but I was slightly pissed that he didn't actually create the webbing only the shooters.
Everything was just disappointing.
Peter was way to emotional or trying to hard to be tuff for no reason.
The romance stuff was the worst by far.
Hated it.

I just saw it, i thought it was a great origin movie. They explained more about peter in the first half of the movie than they did in the Raimi Spiderman 1 movie. They took more time to develop each character, although they treaded familiar waters the viewer still has to remember that its an origin movie. Not everybody has seen the first trilogy.
The characters were not dumb and stupid like in the first movie. I didn't find myself getting angry at the screen as i was with everything Mary Jane did in the Raimi trilogy. I was actually surprised that each character was able to put two and two together in most of the situations.
Overall the Drama and Romance elements of the movie is the most realistic I've seen in any marvel movie. They may not be everyones cup of tea, but i was happy that they did that. And its a great movie for the franchise to blossom from. But since its stretched out and well detailed, i hope they do more than 3 movies.

I'm definitely going to check this out. I hated the Raimi trilogy, so they'd have to try extremely hard to f*** this up any worse. I like the choice for Peter and prefer the webslingers as opposed to him shooting it out of his actual wrists.
Although I'm taken back by their idea for Lizard. He looks like Grig from The Last Starfighter.

I have yet to see it but I fear I am going to dislike it as it's still a Spider-man film dominated by Peter Parker.
I don't care about the Parker side of Spider-man

I don't care about the Parker side of Spider-man You do realize they're the same guy, right? It's not like Superman where Clark is some pretend doofus and you just wait for Superman to show up. Peter always stays true to himself while in costume, and still deals with every day Peter Parker issues while wearing it. That's basically what the Spider-Man comics were founded on. Anyhow, it was a really good movie. On top of that, it was a really good Spider-Man movie. It was nice to finally see Spidey being Spidey, as opposed to some whiny block of wood as he was in the Sam Raimi movies.

Yeah, I just prefer the Spider-man stories that revolve around the villains or J Jonah and the Bugle, I'm not that fussed about his homelife with May, various girlfirends or the mystery of his parents they just seem like filler to his next superheroic problem. Be it vulture proclaiming himself the best jewel thief or The Lizards family issues son and his dna experiment problem. Kraven's last Hunt, Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut, Maximum Carnage, Mr Big and most Mysterio stories really don't involve his homelife. (Yeah that also means 'm not a fan of anything Osborne related.)

Seeing it this afternoon. I've gotten more and more excited for it the closer I've gotten. Going to be really difficult to top Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 for me, but we'll see.

AWESOME MOVIE! No offence to Tobey, but Garfield NAILED IT! I turned to my girlfriend 20 minutes in and remarked about how great of a Peter Parker he is playing.
Lizard didn't set my world on fire and I did chuckle when I compared him to the Super Mario movie in my head, but I did enjoy the 'nod' I guess you could say with him wearing the lab coat when transformed.
I enjoyed the first installments (Even 3 as I JUST wanted to see Venom in a movie) but this topped them, though it is a bit hard to compare and the first 3 were geared to be campy, while this was serious and darker.

I watched it yesterday and thought it was awesome all around. The after credit scene intrigues me as to who he is actually talking to... heard a few rumors but guess we'll have to wait to see.

I would say this is easily on par with 2, which was the only Spider-Man film before this one that didn't cause me extreme disappointment after it ended.

God that movie was long. Like, at least half an hour too long.
I don't even know where the time was wasted, but geez it felt like there were things we needed more of. While I could have dealt with less Peter, they needed to build a better relationship with Aunt May.
And we needed more Spider-Man. Seriously, there was barely any of him actually being Spider-Man.

I enjoyed this better than any Spider-Man movie previously released. This nailed it from every angle I wanted it to. Phenomenal, and I even rank it up higher than Avengers which blew me away as well.

I've written up a huge review elsewhere, but I won't bombard y'all with that, and much of my points have probably already been discussed, so I'll just boil it down to one sentence.
It's a pretty flawless flick, and improves on the previous franchise in every possible way.

Maybe I just feel so spoiled because of The Avengers. I just feel so underwhelmed.

I feel that they're setting up for a big character study ala what "Batman Begins" was and the sequel will have more emphasis on Spidey while keeping touch with Peter.
