Maybe the only thing Marty is being hired as a "trainer" to do is stand there and let his students gaze upon him. "Hey kids...this is what you DON'T do." When the high point of your career is getting thrown through a plate glass window, I guess you're a pretty decent exemplar of what not to do, yeah. A Match of the Year contender, an Intercontinental title win (listen to the pop!) and a World Tag Team title win (listen to the pop!) beg to differ. But I understand what you're saying, and I don't necessarily disagree.....

He also had an MOTYC that no one expected with Kurt Angle when Kurt was starting to fall apart.

To be fair that's the equivalent of Led Zeppelin playing a concert but before they went on stage John Paul Johns fell ill so they had the really tripped out music teacher fill in from the local high school.

Actually as early as last year he fell off the wagon again.
So yeah, it's a legit worry for me.
Skill wise, he's a solid hand but he's never been on the level of the other trainers the Factory has had. Least in my opinion.

You can say all those things, and that's fine, but if you ask someone about Marty Jannetty, what they'll remember, IF they remember him at all, is HBK tossing him through the Barbershop window.

Well this gives me more stuff to riff on CHIKARA about. So, good job Quackenbush.

Which is a shame, as it was obvious that Jannetty jumped through the window in an attempt to escape. COWARD!

I'll give him a chance first before I pounce on him like you guys have. I thought the whole 123 Kid thing was an awful idea, and it ended up being fantastic.

Seriously, people are acting like this is going to ruin Chikara or something. Quack is extremely protective of his product; if Jannetty ends up being a nuisance, he'll be out, pronto. Plus, I think it's good to see Marty getting another chance.

When the high point of your career is cowardly diving through a plate glass window, I guess you're a pretty decent exemplar of what not to do, yeah. Fixed! Not going to call doom on this, as Jannetty is a good hand in the ring... when not flaking out or drugged out of his mind. But if his WWE track record is to be followed he'll be hired and fired like 5 more times by morning

I'm surprised by the hate... it's not like the guy was a locker room cancer like Shawn... he just liked to party a lot. The guy proved he could still go in the ring his last WWE appearances also.

If the dude still has something to add to wrestling, let him add it. Plus, I'm sure Jannetty knows enough about the business to actually be some use as a trainer.

This better lead to him feuding with a debuting: La Ventana De Peluquería, Jr.

Sorry lads but this thread's full of balls. Marty's a world class worker who's got decades of experience under his belt, despite having a couple of personal problems. The idea that someone like Ultramantis, Hallowicked or Eddie Kingston would be more suited to training new wrestlers over Marty Jannetty is absolutely batshit insane. The guy's fantastic in the ring, and probably has a lot to offer, and doesn't seem like the kind of person to take the money and run. Can't see a problem with this at all.
