I didn't see the problem with him appearing, but whatever

Some people here brought up the possibility that Joe Rogan might badmouth WWE upon seeing Punk...
... not sure if that's really the reason, but I can imagine Vince being wary of this.

What's Joe Rogan's beef with WWE? They made him look bad when WWE was on Fear Factor 10 years ago?

Vince, sack up and let it happen! The WWE Champion being seen on network television is a golden opportunity.

Not surprised. Day before a major PPV and very little to no chance of a plug out of it. No reason for it.

Well, I guess Vince sees UFC as a rival promotion.
It seemed weird from the beginning anyway.

He would not bury the guy because he is a WWE wrestler. As long as Punk does not get interviewed by Rogan like Hogan..he will be fine.

That would be their big zinger.

And look, that's WWF superstar FM Luck accompanying him." They'd call him a pro wrestler instead of a superstar and then UFC'd get an angry call from someone in WWE's promotions department, insisting that they issue a correction and an apology, which Dana White would mock on twitter.

I kind of get it, best case scenario, your champion and biggest star is a mere follower/lackey/entourage member of a UFC guy. I mean, can you imagine Hogan or Austin or the Rock just being a member of an entourage and not even acknowledged by announcers? Vince is being a little paranoid here for sure, but he's also looking to protect Punk's star status. He sees his WWE champion as more than just a corner man.

Phew. Thank God. For a second there, I thought that the WWE Champion was going to get a lot of mainstream exposure.

Why do people seriously think the UFC commentary are just gonna sit there and bitch out any pro wrestler that shows up?
Kurt Angle, The Undertaker (Whose onscreen name plate said THE UNDERTAKER and he was called as such) and Stone Cold have all been shown on UFC TV and received a big response from the crowd during so.
I dont get why the WWE really had an issue here.

It would have been good exposure. WWE should have let him do it.

That fight takes place on the same say as a Raw house show where Punk is advertised to main event.
Why would Vince give his champion the night off to go and support another organization and probably be ignored?

I heard rogan is an actual fan of wrestling. Theyve had Undertaker in the crowd and he basically wigged out like THE UNDERTAKERS HERE!
