The Aftermath Thread is here. It was an Epic Sized 10-DAY game, wow. Feel free to talk at last!

This thread is OPEN for anybody to respond/talk/give thoughts about the game and what happened. I hope you all had fun and without you guys I couldn't have made this happen. Thank you to everyone who joined and played this game.

I'll be updating this thread routinely with comments, answering questions, all the night actions, my running notes, Quicktopics and the Role PM's one by one later today + tomorrow and so on until I am done. I just have to catch up on sleeping first.

I'm glad to see this game finally come to an end and what a great ending it was.

After I got killed off I asked Queen Mab who was in the mafia because I didn't think I would get a chance to come back in the game (how wrong I was I could of came back but I regret nothing) so I knew who the mafia was I had no idea there was a cult but still I was marking out as you guys picked off the mafia one by one.

When you finally got Zack Morris is Insane I did the Daniel Bryan YES! taunt because the Town finally won a large mafia game!

And I loved it when Zack said he wasn't the final mafia member and you guys bought it and was like "we need to do this during the next day phase" and I was screaming at the computer THERE ISN'T GOING TO BE ANOTHER DAY PHASE YOU LYNCHED THE FINAL MAFIA MEMBER! You don't know how much I wanted to post that but I didn't because it would ruin the surprise and I wasn't about to do that.

I just couldn't wait till Queen Mab did the write up and revealed that THE TOWN WON THE GAME! which means I WON THE GAME AS WELL WOO WOO WOO YOU KNOW IT!

oh how things could have been different had I lasted the one more night phase. Good to see a town win one, even if I was mafia.

I have a long writeup that I wrote a while back and have been trying to update as the game progressed... but seeing the last few pages of the thread, I will need to decide if I still am going to post it or not.

Edit: Don't forget to give everyone's roles. Preferably in the main game thread

Except I WASN'T wrong the entire game. In all fairness you were wrong about Latino but that's all I can think of.

Also Queen Mab told me in a PM awhile back (hope she doesn't mind telling this) that Spartan was never targeted by the cult to be converted yet you said he was again all I know is what Queen Mab told me in a PM, we did PM each other during this game after I was killed off it gave her someone to talk the game over with and I was happy to lend an ear.

Ah I've been wondering about that it was a good bluff if I didn't already know I would of believed it and probably voted off Spartan if I was in the game.

When the game started, I initially was upset that I was in mafia, I don't have near as much fun as mafia as I do as town. I was then not real happy about being a "lover" as my fate was intertwined also M's fate. So even if I play a good game, one slip up by him and I'm gone... and vice versa. But when I realized he wasn't in with the mafia, my interest was somewhat peaked. I could use that connection to help make me appear town when I was not, and I'm not going to lie... the idea of double winning a game was awesome.

Now, if you look at the QT, it states that we could not talk about our roles in the game... which I never did. But I was intially suspecting that M was going to be in a different 3rd party role. I even tried to hint at the posibility to him in post 4 of the QT... but he didn't pick up on it, so I figured then that he must just be a townie.

Starting on day 3, I had to start establishing that connection to help prevent a lynch on him. I felt pretty good after peg gave his "vote of confidence" in me, followed by gus dropping me from his suspect list. Not to mention Spartan's hidden message to follow my lead.

I was so close to double winning this game. I knew that it could only be a powerrole to do me in, and I was right. I was afraid of the poisoner for the majority of the game, as you will be able to see in the QT.

Cageking - I didn't like that he took himself out of the game instead of being replaced...especially without talking with the other members of the mafia first. We were already "behind" before we even really got started.

Spartan v1 - I actually tried to keep you in this game during the first night phase, but it wasn't to be. Would have been interesting to see how the sensor played out.

Spartan v2 - I believe I had a major misread of what the poisoner could do. And I initially thought you had assumed that role from hayden. I was wrong. Its too bad I got killed when I did, cause I was ready to ride out your confidence(i deciphered your message during ensuing the night phase) in me to a mafia/lovers double win. You had well thought out ideas. Even when you miscued, you were ready to listen to what others said and ended up giving you a solid grasp of the whole situation.

Notorious - Game aside - I hope everything is ok - you've not posted anywhere on this board since mid september. (UPDATE: Notorious has posted since I initially wrote this up. Good to see everything is ok)

Jono - You never answered me in game. Why a plan to "try to get lynched" then try to stop it right as its about to be successful?

Lodi - was a bad move revealing you had a power role. Its even worse that you gave up such a powerful one. You became priority #1 when you did that. And it didn't gain you anything. You didn't answer me earlier... why target bergman when he was a confirmed town?

Joker - Town cop in both batman and true blood? What are the odds? Even though it was more subtle, you did give yourself away. I didn't want to be blatant that I knew, cause I was afraid of what you knew and could reveal if your role was made public to all(like you did in batman mafia). You had 6 nights of investigations that you could have flushed out and completely changed the game. So I didn't want to spook you. I did believe you investigated mason, and why I voted alongside you.

J - I was shocked to see the serial killer go down so quickly. Bad break.

Mason - We had you or magiconz down as the poisoner by the end on night 6. But lodi was considered (at the time) the more immediate threat. Wouldn't have mattered either way for me(unless you somehow did a daytime poisoning), the outcome would have still been the same. And we would deal with you the next night, luckily the lynch went your way and we didn't have to choose between you and joker on night 7. Many may not admit this... but your poisoning of me was the tide turner in this game.

M - Sucks that you lost interest in this game. But in the end, the only thing that was lost was one more day phase for you before you offed yourself the following night.

Sharpshooter/B/waffle - good communication at night. Flushed out plans and we stuck to them. We each played a little differently and didn't ignore/defend each other too much, which kept the townfolk off balanced. The town couldn't get it together, and it took a timely power role and us doing ourselves in to turn the tide(not sure gus would have made it back on in time to change his vote on day 8.)

Daime/Latino - I think that we used your abilities well. I don't feel at all bad that we burned through them at the pace we did. It did save you from a kill. The above goes for both of you as well. I do wish you had tried to go the "the reason we are still going is not cause there is more mafia, but becuase there is still a 3rd party in play" route at the end. Not sure if the writeups contradicted this, but would have been worth a shot.

Gus -- First, I loved how into this game you were. And I wish everyone had the activity you did.

That said, we(mafia) knew you had a major powerrole, but you were doing a better job of keeping the town unfocused than we were. I even tried to say "enough is enough" and have you night killed, but was outvoted cause they believed you would still help our cause. Turns out they were somewhat right, but it turned out to be their undoing.

And you've been saying it all game about how you'll tell everyone how you were right if you did indeed have mafia in your list, but consider the following.
Day 1 suspicions(M) - omgus, you can say no, but your whole arguement was based on the fact he voted you.
Day 2 Suspicions (M, Latino Meat v1, Pegasus, ritt)
Day 3 "for sure" mafia (Doulble h, M, SNS, Ritt, Pegasus, spartan) -- also with town reads: officialfan.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=forumgames&thread=442405&post=8921929 Town Reads(Brad, Daime, Jono, J)
Day 4 "for sure" mafia (Ritt, M, Jono, Bergman v1)
Day 5 Suspicions (Jono, Bergman v1, Lodi, Notorious)
Day 6 suspicions (Jono, sharpshooter)
Day 7 "for sure" mafia (M, Magiconz, Sharpshooter, Spartan v2, SNS) --- BTW, That would be 5 Mafia with only 9 remaining post lynch if you were right.

You didn't have a single mafia on your lists til day 3(a day when you had more scum in your town list than you did your suspect list) and then immediately took him off the next day. It wasn't until day 6 that you finally got another mafia member on your list.

You chose 12 different people to suspect. With 8 of the 26 people in the game being non-town(30%), you would have done better throwing everyone's name in a hat and drawing 12 names out at random. So actually getting two mafia right in your entire list wasn't some great accomplishment.

I even tried to help you, but you were in full blinders mode. If anyone disagreed with you, they were mafia. So the most of the mafia just sat back and left you alone, even against my suggestion that it was time to get rid of you.

I don't say this just to go "ha ha, you were wrong!", but to help you grow as a mafia player. You got your mind wrapped around an idea and would never deter from it. You were 100% convinced in your theary with no room for reconsideration. In other words... Its GOOD that you were thinking like that(wish more would do this)... it was BAD that you set it in stone.

All mafia players need to know humility and be able to accept when they might have made a mistake(see: spartan). Not doing so helps the mafia more than the town. I'm really bad at picking out mafia, but can present a convincing case. You can see in some of the most recent games where I went in guns blazing and had to back off when I realized I was(or even just "might have been") wrong... if I hadn't, we might have lynched town power roles.

All Town - you have to lynch more often. The town got into a LYLO situation before it began to turn things around. If you had, you would have had worlds of information to use during the middle of the game instead of having to wait til the end. Not having a mafia lynch to reference really screwed you guys in the middle day rounds. If not for some fortunate late game power role hits, this game would have been over on day 8 with four of us remaining. Anyone not voting cause they are afraid of backlash are playing more to survive in the game longer than they are to win it.
-- This part will be hard for anyone to take seriously...since, ya know, the town won. But it was more to do with the power roles than the town coming together. Your first three lynches were on Day 1, Day 3 and Day 7.. all with the help of mafia. It was day 8(!!) before you were able to lynch a mafia member. Town was very fortunate to win this one.

EDIT: Just read SNS notes, and I agree wholeheartedly with it. It's always cool to read his post game notes after mafia/survivor/anything, because it provides a much deeper appreciation/understanding of the entire game.

Ok, we're getting nowhere. So I'm going on an educated guess here. Posting now to give everyone some time to process this before the end of the day phase.

night 1:
Serial killer killed itsvadertime565, the town doctor.
Lodi didn't kill anyone

night 2:
Serial killer attempted to kill (no kill?)
Lodi attempted to kill Daime (somehow blocked)

So the serial killer AND lodi's kills were prevented?
So
a) They just happened to choose the same target and both kills were prevented
b) We have 2 roleblockers who happened to both pick the right people to block, so that neither kill happened
c) another doctor-type role(first one already dead) that just so happened to also pick right this night, so that neither kill happened
d) the serial killer forgot to do his primary function in this game
e) mystery option(detailed below)

night 3:
Lodi attempts a kill on waffle, gets jailed and it is fails

Night 4:
Lodi attempts again to kill waffle, and succeeds. Quickly makes the claim that he's the town member that did it.

Night 5:
Lodi attempts to kill a confirmed town in bergman.

"coincidentally", both J and Lodi never both killed someone in the same night.

More interesting facts:
Lodi was not part of the people that voted J out.
The town vigilante was lynched on day 1. So what possible town role would that make lodi? I can't see there being 2 vigilantes.
J was not labled as "serial killer"

My theory(mystery option):
J was not a serial killer, but part of a 2nd mafia group. When he died, Lodi took over. Lodi was able to target a mafia member, and quickly took the credit so that it would get any heat off his back. But if he is town, why did he just go after the most confirmed town member?

I'm going to vote: Lodi. If I'm wrong, I will throw myself at the mercy of everyone. Cause at worst, we are getting rid of someone that has no problem eliminating confirmed town members.

But if I'm right, this game may be blown right open. I don't know if it is just the two of them, or if there are more. If there are more, my suspicion is that jono is in with them. Which may mean that we are dealing with two smaller groups instead of one large group. And that we may be closing in on winning this game.

Gus, if this lynch goes through, and Lodi does indeed flip red, I ask that you jail me tonight. If he flips green, then don't. As there would be no reason to try to protect me if I'm wrong. If he flips orange, i'll eat my hat.

The reason I revealed my role was out of panic. I thought that people like Gus and Jono (Auguring at their peak at the time) and Bergman wouldn't believe anything that I said, gang up on me, and lynch me, when I was the backup Vigilant that was trying to lie low and strike Mafia from behind.

When everyone started to get suspicious of me, that's when I started to sweat, and that's when I decided to reveal the bolt.

Which looking at it now, was definitely not the right idea. I had Zack Morris targeted more then once throughout the game, and in fact, she was the one who killed me in the end.

Wow, an amazing game. This was my first run as Mafia, though only due to an early demise, but it was absolutely a blast.

I have to say that it was I who sealed Latino's fate unfortunately. My gambit was that I would stall the town vote, as people expected. In addition I would also claim myself to be someone I wasn't which would help my case further. In the end it almost worked... until I made the miscalculation of not knowing that everybody would swarm me while I was making my defense post. If I had been quicker on the draw then this game might still be going on as we speak.

I also applaud Gus for one thing: by coming out and admitting you were cult you completely screwed our plans up. We were going to set you up for a lynch after we disposed of Joker. But when you made that claim I knew our job had become much more difficult.

I inevitably flushed myself out by speaking up against you. My gambit was that if I could make the town distrustful of you again I could perhaps convince them to get rid of you. Either that or take you out with a nightkill.

And Street Spartan was the MVP of this game in my book. He took it upon himself to lead the town when things were looking bleak. He was doing such a good job that honestly we almost went after him instead of Joker. I considered him that big of a threat.

But all that said... I still won, kind of. Yay for double roles!

By the way, all the poisonings that I had a say in were intended for suspected Mafia members. Obviously, SNS was the only one i was right about, and I objected to poisoning Notorious because I was leaning back to him being Town.

First of all: FINALLY it's over. For better or worse. This was my first time as Mafia and I drew the Godfather role. I hope my scummy cohorts were pleased with my performance.

Some thoughts:

Gus, I honestly think you've turned me off Mafia games forever. I don't mean that in a "you bastard you made us lose!" kinda way. I mean it in a "man, peoples attitudes can get really s***ty in these games" kinda way. While I loved that you so often had people looking in the wrong direction, I absolutely hated the way that anyone who disagreed with you or tried to make a case against you was instantly Mafia.

SNS, your death took me by major surprise and may have been the kick-off point to our undoing. But you played an excellent game from day one and I was happy to be on the same side as you.

Pegasuswarrior, dat list. Need I say more?

Brad, you're always fun to have in these games. I've thought that ever since it came down to just you and me in WWE Mafia. Keep up the good work.

Well you knew who I was and this was the point at which Gus was rallying folks against me. I believe I made some kind of statement saying that someone still in the game knew I was town and if they didn't come forward I would go after them with a vengeance.

Problem was, no one rallied with Gus because well... he's Gus. I put you on my back burner and around a day later you confirmed me as town.

Also, does anyone have anything to say to me specifically about how I played (either role)? I realize that I got quite heated toward Gus in particular, but I feel as if SnS explained my frustration in his comments towards Gus better than I could have.
