Man, I am really going to regret this if Cena does turn heel...
Which, for the record, he won't.

Believe it when I see it. They've had years worth of opportunities.

Instead of him doing whatever it takes(i.e. heel tactics) to beat the Rock, he'll just summon his vast resources of intestinal fortitude to win and then the Rock will shake his hand and put him over huge the next night on Raw. Let's not kid ourselves here.

I'm taking a stand against the naysayers. I say Cena's going to the dark side this year. To keep it fair and balanced (and in light of my lack of creativity), one of you come up with a penalty if (somehow) Cena stays face.

Keep in mind if he does turn, Mania could just be the planting of the seed, by him maybe whacking Rock with an object or using the ropes for a pin. The announcers could generally sell him as a face to close the show, but his full blown heel character might not emerge for a couple of months afterwards. In a similar vein, after Punk attacked Rock at Raw 1000 he was more or less a whiny tweener at worst with Lawler being his one true critic, until Punk kicked him in the head to close out a Raw.
If Cena wins in a desperate fashion but doesn't do anything super-evil, like flip off the crowd or pummel Rock with a chair afterwards, you might wanna wait until his Raw segment and the tone of it to determine whether you won the bet or not.

Oh no, I'm not falling for this again. This must be the 4th or 5th time where a Cena turn has been 'predicted' because of a promo or the way a feud is going, and every time nothing has happened. Cena ain't turning, end of story. So it's just bad writing then?

LOL no matter what, people will hate WWE and Cena. If he goes heel, people will say it was obvious, EVERYONE KNEW it'd happen, it was so basic and played out boring, do something a little more unpredictable WWe.
If he doesn't turn, boring, same old Cena lol WWe never changes, EVERYONE KNEW he wouldn't turn, I'm done with this show etc etc.
For the record, I think if he doesn't turn, it'll be something like this: If he loses........he may just swerve and say if he has to accept 2nd place, he's glad he has to accept it to the very best the WWE has to offer.
And if he does....well, Cena should scream in anger and frustration on the night, but next night and for the next month, have him become the Rock's biggest fan. Have him tag up with the Rock, and not betray him or anything like that. BUT keep John on a losing streak. Have him lose every single match. At Backlash, make the Rock have to face someone in a ladder match for the title. LEt it be a brutal match, with Rock beaten badly. And near the end, have the title fall from where it's hanging, so all you have to do is grab it. But the Rock is so tired, he can only crawl towards it. Then have Cena come out and hold the title for the Rock just out of reach , and everytime the Rock moves towards it, move it back just a little further. Have him place the title on the far side of the ring while he holds a chair above it calmly saying "Accept your loss Rock. Accept it, like I had to. Accept it!" Then just as the Rock has reached the title, have Cena bring the chair down on Rocky. Symbolising that Rocky ripped something out of his grasp, just as he was about to get ahold of it.
Then have him do a big party for the Rock celebrating his best WWE moments. And everyone including Rock is going along with it, thinking John's really accepted defeat graciously. Have Mick Foley perhaps question John on why he is losing so much, and have John play it off. Aw it's nothing. But have Foley remind him that it's since he lost to Rock at WM. Then for the first time since WM, have the giant beaming grin slip from Cenas face. Have him look at the floor and then up right into Foley's eyes. Maybe a vide for the Rock is currently playing, and everyone except Foley and Cena are distracted by the video. Then have Cena leave the ring, get a chair.....and sit down and watch the video. Afterwards however, have him start smiling again, and announce that he's got a giant cake for the Rock. Have him cut the first piece and put it on a plate for the Rock. Then he can announce he wants the Rock to have his cake....and eat it. After that have Cena stuff cake into the rock's mouth and try to shove it down his throat and start beating on Rocky. Have Cena handcuff Rock to the ring and have his father forced into an impromptu 'match' with Cena, where Cena just whales on him and repeatedly attack him. Cena can yell DING DING DING into the Mic when he pins him and act as his own ref for the three count.
OR, if Rock wins
I dunno.

Like most I would like to see a Cena heel turn just to freshen things up and break the monotony of his character. But I won't hold my breath on it because, as noted, WWE doesn't have any other stars who could fill the void he would leave by turning heel. And even if Punk, Daniel Bryan, or Ryback could help fill that void, I think WWE just plain has an aversion to the idea-there have been plenty of times where it would have worked marvelously before and they've never done it.

I'll counter the bandwagon of people betting against the turn just because I'm really hoping for something big. I fully realize the likelyhood of my defeat.
If Cena doesn't turn heel I'll change my avatar to whatever image the first reply to this post contains. This will be my avatar for a month. Provided I can actually use it as an avatar and it will work within forum guidelines.

Am I the only one who thinks we should have a thread dedicated to the wagers and get as many people in on this as possible?

I assume that picture is in response to me but its kinda big for an avatar.
I don't think it could all be fit in without being smooshed into an unrecognizable mess.

Really the whole previous Wrestlemania backstory would fuel Cena's motivation. Rock cost him the WWE championship two years ago, and then beat him again when John promised a victory. Cena cannot afford to have Rock get the better of him and hand him a loss for the third year in a row. And this why Cena attempts to win at all costs and eventually cheats to beat the Rock. He's slightly conflicted, but he still does it. The next night on RAW, Cena comes out as WWE Champ and admits to going against his best judgment and letting his desire to win get the better of him. He says he's embarrassed and grants Rock a rematch on RAW. The match happens and the same events play out as the night before: Cena can't seem to get the better of the Rock, so he cheats to win again. This time, he embraces it and destroys the Rock after the match, cementing the turn. We're left with a paranoid heel Cena, who's obsessed with asserting his legacy as the best ever at all costs. Here's the thing. In the end Cena has to beat the Rock, CLEANLY! No cheating, no shenanigans, no screwjob. Or in the end Cena will still be seen as not on the Rock's level. And in the long run that's what this storyline is about, Cena officially joining the all time greats. A Cena heel turn at WrestleMania 29 may be exciting in the short term but it could ruin Cena's legacy in the long term. Unless he redeems himself and beats The Rock at WrestleMania 30. And I think having the same main event is pushing it.
