Great player but Liverpool are well rid of him
He was pushing for a move almost as soon as he joined, he damaged Liverpool's image and prospects with constant suspensions, never took any responsibility for his own actions, and after yet another insane act, he repays all the support Liverpool showed him over the years by wanting to leave.
They need to spend that money wisely. Can't afford to andycarroll another transfer window.

Barca now have Messi, Neymar & Suarez f***ing hell I can't see that forward line working out, myself. All three of those players are players you build a team around, not with. Neymar had a pretty average first season with Barca and a big part of that was because he had to fit in around Messi.

Norwich's pre-season becomes more unintentionally hilarious with every passing day. See if you can keep up...
- In Italy from July 18th - 26th to play Novara (20th), Sampdoria (23rd) and a third, presumably Italian team (25th) to be named later. - Third team turns out to be FC Bastia, so add in a small detour to France.
- Sampdoria withdraw from the second game and are replaced by Livorno. - On the day of the game, Novara pull out at the last minute - instead, we play S.C. Vallée d’Aoste, who we end up thrashing 0-13. - The next day, the upcoming game with Livorno is then cancelled and instead replaced with an open training session. - Now TODAY, SC Vallée d’Aoste claims that in fact we didn't play them - but instead, against "an Aosta regional side".
What next?

So which team has had the best sumemer (so far) in the transfer market?
I'm quite pleased with ours, although we have simply spent the money received for Debuchy and Cabaye. I think De Jong and Cabella will be adequate replacements for the latter, haven't seen enough of Janmaat to judge him as a replacement for Debuchy though.
I still think we need strengthening up front and at centre back but unless we sell somebody else for a hefty fee (which I can't see happening) I can't see us spending anymore.
Also, I'm sorry Sunderland fans, but 14m for Borini is mental (and being a Newcastle supporter I know all about daft transfer fees - or used to anyway haha).

I'd say Chelsea have done the best business in the transfer market so far. They've identified where they were lacking and brought in top quality players to fill those gaps, and managed to sell a fringe player for £50 million to balance the books.
Liverpool on the surface look to have done some good business, but they're also running the risk of repeating Tottenham's mistakes from last season and could struggle for results as the new players settle.

Leeds have mainly signed unknown Italians and sold last seasons top scorer (for a decent amount though). With an unknown head coach I fear it's going to be a long hard season.

Andy Carroll out injured for 4 months. This guy has so much potential but just keeps getting injured, such a frustrating player

Wasn't it 11m for McCormack? I suppose if it buys promotion then it's worth it. I'd probably agree with Chelsea, I know Costa didn't have a great Worl Cup but he fits the Mourinho mould perfectly.

Noob question:
Is this just an EPL thread?
I am now a huge MLS fan ever since I went to a live Sporting KC game last year. I post on reddit but was wondering if there was an MLS following here.

I don't know how big a following MLS has on here, but this is a soccer/football thread all inclusive. Feel free to discuss whatever football related topic you want.

MLS All-Star Game in Portland occurred tonight, with MLS beating Bayern Munich 2-1. Fun game, with Donovan scoring the winning goal.

Celtic lose 6-1 on aggregate in the Champions League qualifiers. Shame but it does mean we get to buy Fraser Forster.

Landon Donovan is retiring at the end of the MLS season. The greatest US player from a talent standpoint of all time and a joy to watch. Sadly, due to a perceived lack of heart, he won't go down as the most beloved like a Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra, or even Clint Dempsey will.

For the fans here from America, what stations/channels do you go to watch any of these leagues (not just MLS but also any of the European Leagues as well?) I think someone mentioned something in the World Cup thread, that they are broadcasts of them in the USA, but I can't find them. I have digital cable, if that helps. Also - can you watch online, if that's possible (don't know). Thanks for any possible replies.

Legia Warsaw may have fielded an ineligable player, so Celtic may be reinstated.

I really appreciate that. Does anyone know if the USA broadcasts the Spanish La Liga (I want to see this one in particular, cause I have Spanish Heritage and some of my favorite players are in that division) or any other Leagues? I'd like to watch as much as possible. =P
