Did they even do a moment where she officially turned face? I don't remember her running to the aid of Kaitlyn when she was getting beaten up or anything like that. Some people are just really unlikable anyway. only thing i recall is Orton suddenly going up to them and making creepy comments while they looked on with expressions like he just farted or something. then Brie did the run in to futilely 'yell' "no randy stop." while orton was beating up DB by the announce table. i do recall her and nikki doing their patented 'face spot' "L on the forehead for loser" after she beat someone shortly after her "turn". oh and then on RAW she and nikki screamed in terror .0000001 seconds after Orton closed the door to the trainers room while he was still a good 10-15 feet away after not making a sound the whole time he was talking to the camera. and to get to my original comment, i thought the title was going to lead to "WWE officials are confused about Brie Bella...they thought she was nikki."

well, cool heels seem to happen with almost no effort for men. Why shouldn't they for women?

Because, lowering it to WWE's level, Daniel Bryan's penis isn't the key to getting over.
AJ is a good example actually. It wasn't until she started the crazy gimmick that she got over. As Bryan's timid girlfriend, no one really cared.

I mean I don't necessarily believe this story. I still find it insulting that we should just root for Brie because of her non kayfabe life. I mean her (lack) of acting hasn't changed since then and I haven't been given a reason that she's a changed person. I'll admit she's showing more effort in the ring which is nice but not enough reason to root for her over AJ. If you want fans to root for Brie over AJ give them a reason to. Not just expect them to do it.

AJ is more likable. People were not booing her "pipebomb", they were cheering and agreeing with her.

WWE are bewildered as to why the fans aren't cheering a woman who's been booked as a bullying bitch along with her sister since they debuted who has no endearing qualities whatsoever as a face.

The closest I can think of fit an official turn was when Bryan and Brie ran into each other backstage and hugged/kissed. That was it. Exactly, and like the week before she was being a mean girl.

Another thought...
I thought they'd be more confused a to why they're pushing the Bella with the smaller chest.

Honestly AJ, Punk and Bryan should be the faces of the uprising in WWE against the Corporation. They're over and the right choices to stand up to them.

Funny how a bunch of nerdy men and children (the main demo's who watch the WWE) like the girl next door type, who has similar interests to them, over someone who acts like "b*tch" on the reality TV show(Yeah, I know it's fake), and a diva type(no pun intended) on TV for the past 5 years.
Trish was getting cheered when she was a heel too, they eventually just made her face. I've never seen another era like this, where the WWE is so concentrated on telling the fans who is a face/heel. Let the people who pay choose.

Well its hardly surprising when you two women who have been booked as unlikable bitches throughout their entire stint in the WWE.

True they didn't really react on Monday to the beatdown, but she has recently been getting more reactions from the crowd. Little pop when she comes out and they'll cheer when she screams for them too. They react to her more than the other divas besides AJ and Kaitlyn. (natalya?)

The biggest problem is that there was really no moment where Brie turned. One week she was acting like a "mean girl", the next we're suddenly supposed to cheer for her. Even if it's a quick backstage segment where she's learned the error of her ways, that'd be better than doing absolutely nothing (unless you have the announce team announcing the engagement the moment she turned, which is still stupid). Also, there's the whole part where her and her sister have acted like horrible people over the past few years and have gotten little (if any) comeuppance for it. That's also why when I see the Bellas, I tend to post this gif:

From the Bella's twitter:
So...they're happy that fans aren't getting behind her?

One day...maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but one day man. One day WWE higher ups will understand that storytelling depends more on the execution than this bizarre "WRESTLER + UNFAIR = INSTANT SYMPATHY/HEAT" math equation they seem to mistake for reasonable. Spot freaking on. Couldn't have said it better. Characters need to be likable outside of shitty things happening to them. That being said, this story just sounds made up to me. I think they completely understand why she's not sympathetic, but they're going to keep pushing forward, because Total Divas and Daniel Bryan's future wife.

That would make the WWE look even worse if they were to continue a failing angle just for such superficial reasons. At least if this report were true, they'd be acknowledging the fact that something isn't working.

Being cool, fun, or interesting are likable traits. Attitude Era wrestlers had those traits in spades. Brie Bella? None of these things. It's not all about moral high ground...but she doesn't even have THAT, as spelled out time and time again in this thread. What does she have, other than being hot? Spot freaking on. Couldn't have said it better. Characters need to be likable outside of shitty things happening to them. That being said, this story just sounds made up to me. What's worse, scratching their heads over something painfully obvious, or saying "screw it we'll do it anyway"? I can't really answer that, neither is a good thing at all.
