Might add I tried one called Mumdman back around Halloween. Nearly made me puke. Never again.

This is my kinda thread right here!!!!! St Bernardus Abt 12: A Belgian Quad that is 10% ABV. Fantastic beer that tastes just right at about 40 degrees. I have been able to find it just about everywhere too. Here is its link on BeerAdvocate: linkGoose Island's Bourbon County Brand Stout: An imperial stout that is aged in bourbon barrels. The result is a thick alcoholic monster that's north of 14% ABV. Phenominal beer that is only released seasonally and does not stay on shelves long. I have ONE left in my fridge. Link on BeerAdvocate: linkSouthern Tier's Choklat: Another Imperial stout that tastes like chocolate milk. Link on BeerAdvocate: linkThis thread is making me thirsty! I agree with every single thing said here. Though I must confess, I prefer Rochefort 10 to St. Bernardus 12. Both kick ass, though. PS: Have you ever had any of the Bourbon County variants before? The Bourbon County barleywine released this year was amazing, and the Bourbon County Coffee Stout is among my favorite beers of all time. Nah. Have never been able to find the other varieties in my area. I was pretty floored when I found BCBS, when I did. I have also wanted to try St Bernardus' Christmas Ale. Haven't found that one either.

This right here is one of my favorite imperial stouts: A lot of people don't like Victory Storm King because of how hoppy it is (not unusual for an imperial stout to be well hopped - just not THIS well hopped), but I think it's ridiculously good. My bottle is about a year old, and it's been smoothed out tremendously.

I'm more of a dark beer guy myself. I think it has a richer taste, doesn't give me as much gas (although the next morning it gives a totally different set G.I. issues) and I can drink more before I eventually have to break the seal. That said, here's my top three:
1. Guiness.
2. Bass.
3. Sam Adams Boston Lager (although their Oktoberfest, Winter Ale, and Noble Pils seasonals are quality beers as well).
I would really like to try some more varied beers from Ireland and England and would really like to try some German beers (especially at an Oktoberfest celebration)

I love some good local micro brews, but out the more well known stuff, Guinness is usually my go to brew.

PBR because-
Okay, not really. I do not actually like beer, since I have had a few sips of turpentine/earwax and was put off entirely, preferring to stick to Root Beer. That said, the worst drink I have ever had was not beer. It'd be Gin and Tonic.
I concede that there is probably a beer for everyone, given that there are so many varieties, but it's hard to make myself try again, especially since I am loathe to buy something I have no way of knowing if I will utterly hate.

Not a big beer guy (I have effeminate taste in drinks, mostly just fruity rum or wines), but usually I go for Michelob Ultra or Bud Light.

Some of you seem thirsty, so here I am for some more of my personal faves to help you out! Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA: Dogfish Head make a variety of high quality brews, including a 60 minute IPA and a 120 Minute IPA. 90 Minute seems to always be my preferred choice, though. This one might be a bit tough to find depending on where you live. Link to BeerAdvocate: linkSamuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout: A really unsung classic out of the UK. Very easy to find, and has more character than a Guiness. It really is a fine darker beer to go along with a meal, or to drink casually without paying the alcoholic price. It's only 5% ABV. Link to BeerAdvocate: linkSchlafly's Oktoberfest: Out of St. Louis, Schlafly's have been a nice up and coming brewery/tap room in the last few years. They make several varieties, as with many craft breweries, and so far my favorite has been the Oktoberfest, but I have heard positive things about many of their options. Link to BeerAdvocate: link
