We don't have flying cars in the 21st century, but we do have a shit-ton of people who look for a reason to be offended over everything.
Future's so bright!

That would mean more to me if it weren't for the errors with the grammar. I don't think either position is wrong, but this would be a non issue if they hasn't decide to use that image for the ad campaign, which is the biggest difference between this and the Deadpool examples. That would mean more to me if any of those images were actually used to market the movie, let alone on a f***ing billboard. Also, no offense to anyone here, but I've seen that image posted on Facebook at least ten times now, and nearly every time it's posted, it's devolved into some of the dumbest arguments I've ever seen. And I've seen some dumbass arguments on the internet. Yeah, that meme doesn't really fit since it wasn't used to advertise the movie, (and well they wouldn't because Weasel, Colossus and Angel Dust aren't the main villain or star of the movie)

It's a great billboard. Show the main character in danger, causes people to wonder how she will get out of it. Also, was there any rage during the trailers when it showed that? I don't seem to recall any. To be fair, the trailers at least had a bunch of other action scenes included and wasn't just the chokehold.

Perhaps I didn't word it as well as I could have.

Poor ol Archangel got screwed, I'll tell ya that.

Don't know how I came across this. Funny, Jubilee might have more lines here than she did in the movie.

I finally got around to seeing this tonight. It was an X-Men movie. That's about the best I can say about it. It wasn't good, but it wasn't nearly as awful as I'd heard.

If I had to rank them out of the new series would be
1. DOFP 2. FC 3. Apocalypse

I wasn't offended by the billboard. I was more upset that Apocalypse didn't snap her neck in the film that way I could erase THAT Mystique from my head. Seriously can we get Rebecca Romijn back? She is and will always be Mystique to me.

If I had to rank them out of the new series would be 1. DOFP 2. FC 3. Apocalypse Same. Overall, I'd go: 1. X2 2. DOFP 3. Deadpool 4. FC 5. X-Men 6. The Wolverine 7. Apocalypse 8. Last Stand 9 . Origins I'd rank First Class higher, but rewatching it after DOFP and Apocalypse a few things really take me out of the movie - in particular Fassbender's accent slipping like Bambi on ice, and the terrible prosthetic makeup on Mystique and Beast.

I don't really think Romijn was that great as Mystique either. She was fine, but nothing character defining.
It's weird, for me, Lawrenece's performance in First Class was a highlight, then she blew up and they did really make the movies all about her to the detriment of a lot of things. I still like her, but they have gone overkill with it. They've really messed with her character arc from her first movie in particularly with the whole mutant and proud deal now that she's human looking half the time. I get it, you want to show her main actress's face; just from a character/story perspective it's kinda weak.

They could compromise and show Lawrence's face and add subtle things to show that she's a shapershifter, like different hair color, cat pupils, etc.

I'm disappointed we didn't get more Azazel. One movie and then he's killed off-screen. Bogus. I know his comics version was part of a SHITTY storyline, but the First Class version was interesting/would've liked to have gotten more of him.

They couldn't have given one or two of those characters an on-screen death at least?

Still angry they wasted her as a character.

I've got no dislike for January Jones, nor even any real love for White Queen, but boy those two things didn't mesh at all. Jones did fine for the character she was given, but there was no meat on the bone at all for the role.

But Romijn's depiction of Mystique captured how cold and methodical she was. That's what has been missing in the last two X-Men films in my opinion.

The fault there, if it can even be called that, is in the writing rather than the portrayal. The Romijn Mystique was a pretty flat, one-dimensional character with no character arc, so they were always going to have to expand it to make her work as a functional lead character. Besides, the scene where she seduces and (presumably) kills the North Vietnamese general in DOFP was classic Mystique, up there with anything the character did in X1 or X2.
