Ah! Absolutely fine, sire, sorry for being a tool immediately in the reply too. No excuse for that sort of behaviour from myself. No need to apologize, it was a simple misunderstanding. I guess that's what happens when your phone turns heel on you. I'll have to play a Mexican aristocrat in future in order to allow your phone to turn face on me. #HeelSwervePost

Whoa whoa whoa whoa... ...there's still Great Americas?! Six Flags Great America they mean, based in Illinois, best theme park in the Six Flags' series, hands down. And if CM Punk is really angry at his fame, he should wait a year and I promise most people in this country's short-term attention spans will have long forgotten the Best in the Woooooorld-- also he should move from Chicago cause damn they won't ever let him eat a pizza in peace.

While, I dislike most of Punk's attitude, those people are basically stalkers and he has every right to be pissed.
Though, there's a reason why people get rich and famous, they ditch their old life and neighborhoods. It's not necessarily being snobbish, just It's not a good idea being so accessible to people when you're famous.

If I became a celebrity, I would probably make it clear to fans that I'm not going to eat anything given to me by some random fan I don't know.

I find it very hard to sympathise with Punk bitching about fans wanting to see him and meet him and get his autograph. First of all, I just don't see Punk been that famous. This seems like a huge exaggeration. I mean, he's a wrestler which is a pretty niche form of entertainment in the first place. Secondly, he's not even the biggest name in this era of wrestling. I'd say Cena, 'Taker and Brock are all much more well known to people who don't like wrestling than Punk is. Thirdly. He's bitching about been famous, rich and popular. There are plenty of people across the world who would love to be in Punk's position. He should be grateful, not bitching about how hard his life is whilst his bank account is full to bursting and he's achieved pretty everything he can in his career. Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems like Punk exaggerating and making a mountain out of a molehill. Besides, he WANTED to be the #1 guy in the company. Having fans want your autograph is part and parcel of been the #1 guy. Plus, whining about a cute little kid putting chocolate in his letterbox is pretty stupid. Personally, I'd have found that adorable and given the kid a free t-shirt or autographed photo or something. Firstly, it's not Punk bitching about it, it's someone else. And secondly, you seriously see no problem in a fan finding your actual home address and coming to your front door? What about the worrying implications of that? Not every fan is a cute kid with candy. Some fans are Todd. Or Mark Chapman.

I thought the friend's name was Heath Slater at first glance and became extremely confused reading this thread... Don't be silly, Heath Slater doesn't have any friends!

He's not gonna top the match he had with Cena in Dallas, so I can see why he's able to comfortably walk away. The one on RAW, to determine who faces the Rock? Still think it was kinda boring. :x

"I want to be the face of a massive entertainment company...but I don't want a lot of hassle." No kidding. I have little sympathy for people who are in entertainment who want to be left alone (unless they are on their own property...that's an entirely different matter). Here's a hint: that's the field you do not choose ever in your life if you want solitude.

Here's my deal with Punk - I do sympathize a bit with the guy because there are a LOT of Americans who are part of the "Cult of Celebrity" where they will basically harass anyone that's even remotely famous when they see them out in public. And yes, Punk is wrestling-famous which often equates to even less recognition than reality TV stars. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of friends outside of the internet(read: none) who watch wrestling, so even mentioning someone like Daniel Bryan results in odd stares and "Who?". However, Punk was pretty public as champion: doing an angle where he "left the WWE" including taking his title to SDCC and whatnot. Also, even if you still consider Punk a less recognizable name, on his way out he worked programs with the biggest names: Cena, Undertaker, Lesnar. All that said, it's not like he developed his personality overnight. He knew he didn't like getting that much attention and knew that he would probably be more recognizable if he became successful in the WWE. So it's a double-edged sword.
Punk also seems to lump all fans into the same pot, not caring about him as a person and only out to disrupt his life. Obviously, not everyone is like that.

Sometimes reading CM Punk threads make me think that most FAN users have an irrational hatred for him FAN was an obsessive girlfriend. Punk broke up with them, and they went through denial, anger, grief, and now they're cutting his head out of pictures and mailing him dead birds.

Here's a hint: that's the field you do not choose ever in your life if you want solitude. You're completely right, but both the examples in this thread and the examples Punk has raised have been examples of fans being invasive assholes. - People stalking you at your house in the alleyway behind it - People shoving shit through your door - Fans actually pulling your headphones off your headShold it be expected? Possibly. Does that make it okay? No it f***ing doesn't. Punk doesn't just suddenly become ungrateful for his fame just because he doesn't want to be stalked and have his personal space invaded.

This whole things reminds me of Kurt Cobain a little-No I'm not saying Punk is suicidal or anything, but I remember Courtney reading Kurt's letter and he was very tired of fame and she made a remark about "Why didn't you just quit?" or something like that.
Everyone handles fame differently. Some revel in it, some are annoyed and some truly love what they do and could give a shit if someone recognizes them.
Most stories I've heard give me the impression that Punk gets annoyed with it all, so it's smart if he does walk away if it's that much of a pain in the ass.
