What I feel WWE should've done is put together a WWE World Heavyweight title tournament to name a new WWE champion (just like what they did at WrestleMania 4)

I think you should replace Bryan with a Broken TV in the casket.

I'm hoping that resting him will be the best course of action, but considering how insipid the television has been lately, it's gonna be a real bore for me.
With Bryan, however, I'm willing to make that sacrifice. Better to let him heal than to be foolish and let him rush the process.

Fans supporting Daniel Bryan caused his neck injury? I guess when Kevin Nash blew his quads, the fans must have REALLY wanted him to run across that ring. The guy was working with an injury that probably could have been maintained on a lighter, non-main event schedule. He could have gone to surgery, and come back for his shot. The spoilt and brat like element of the universe pushed and pushed the WWE into putting him onto a heavier main event schedule, when it's clear they were unaware of the consequences. Do you think they were hesitant to push Bryan because he wasn't POPULAR? for goodness sake, it was because he was working INJURED. The universe got their payoff at WM, good for them. Daniel Bryans payoff will probably an insurance cheque in the mail. I hope the majority of spoilt 'feed it to me now' fans are content. First, there is no evidence Bryan was working injured. If there was, he sure wouldn't have taken that Sister Abigail on the floor at the Rumble, nor worked the Chamber match, nor get trusted with having TWO matches at the biggest PPV of the year. If he was injured, then they did a terrible job of showing that or protecting him. Second, are you ranting at the fans for, basically, being fans of the product and being unsatisfied on getting what they want? That's pretty much the singular reason why wrestling is still performed in front of crowds of people every single week. Their reaction pretty much drives the business for everything else in that company. Unless you were so desperate for the crowds to have zero reaction for an Orton/Batista match, I don't even know what to really say to that except that's messed up. Cena gets injured a lot, probably still works injured a bit and he draws a lot of money. Should the parents that buy their kids Cena gear be ashamed that Cena works injured?

I think Aaron Rift of NoDQ.com said it best in his video last night
"They did what they had to do"
You can love it or hate it, but they pretty much had to do it at this point

You have no evidence that it was going to be Orton/Batista, there was so much time left for things to develop, yet all we had for months on end was was brat like moaning that pushed the company into a corner, they couldn't win, so all they could do was take the option of putting an injured guy in the main event and inevitably, send him into surgery shortly afterwards. No loss for them, they got their payday. Pro wrestling fans frustrate me so much with the imaginary power they give to themselves. You are CONSUMERS. You either like the product, or you don't and purchase something else, which instigates change. There is no blurred line in the middle where you keep buying the product and still moan about the quality The Universe had their cake, and they have eaten it.

Late to the party but yeah, best thing in the end. Hopefully he takes the time he needs to heal up and come back as close to 100 percent as he can.
Now in terms of who gets the title....probably going to be a face. I really think all signs are pointing to Brock grabbing the title and holding it for a while, probably at least till the Rumble. Could be why they have made some have assed attempts to make the US and IC titles mean something lately, due to the fact of him having it and appearing so infrequently. This way there's still titles to be fought over when he's not on the weekly shows. I think that Brock gets it at Summerslam so whomever wins it is just a transitional champ anyway, so honestly a 2 month run to me don't mean too much of anything.
My best guess is some big irish guy will be dropping his U.S. Title here in the next week or 2 and there's your transitional champ. Honestly I think a match between him and Brock at Summerslam would be a hell of a match to watch, and I know the thought of Big Red getting the title back has alot of people groaning in disgust, but since the guy has come back his matches in general have been better and he'll be a fine tackling dummy at Summerslam.

If WWE didn't want Bryan to work the shifts he did, he wouldn't have. If they wanted to kill his push, they would have and were pretty close to doing so. But they don't exactly have a history of telling guys to rest unless they really have to. If you really want to get down to it, EVERYONE in that company is working injured. People have been concerned about that since the 90s. The fact they announced it'd be Orton/Batista after Batista won the Rumble was a good start, if you ignore the news rumouring that it was going to be Orton/Batista and Sheamus/Bryan as far back as November. Also, Bryan got tossed away pretty quickly to feud with the Wyatts right after he got screwed out of the WWE title match at Hell in a Cell and was pretty much looking to not have any large part of the show until three weeks before WrestleMania where they practically shoehorned in the 'If Bryan wins, he's in the WWE title match' when, in storyline purposes, they had no reason to do that. Again, you are calling people WANTING something to happen and SUPPORTING someone and BUYING their merchandise and going as so far as CHEERING THE GUY'S NAME entitlement? Bryan's segments before 'Mania were some of the highest this year, his matches were drawing and he became the third. WWE were idiots to not listen for as long as they did and allow guys like Batista and Orton to take so much abuse from fans. And you didn't answer my question. Cena is the biggest draw in the company and yet has been injured more times than any other star in WWE for the past 6 years. Should kids feel bad for cheering him and wanting parents to buy their merchandise? If you say yes, consider for a moment that WWE is always the one rushing him back. Until you answer that question, I am done with this discussion.

They can't just keep the title on Bryan for months and do nothing with it. Actually, this is all better for Bryan. The Kane and Brie stuff really hurt his momentum, and letting him jump back on the chase would be a superb way to have a legitimate, enjoyable reign.

To suggest the entire company is working in anticipation of major surgery is ludicrous. You're creating an off tangent discussion with yourself. Who is talking about John Cena? Nobody has mentioned 'kids feeling bad' apart from yourself. I am stating clearly, that the WWE knew Daniel Bryan was working in anticipation of major neck surgery, hence why they wanted to avoid giving him the title because the guy would be gone soon after WM. It was working out well, Bryan was incredibly popular, the groundwork was done for a future return. He could go get his surgery and probably come back to guaranteed fanfare and a more deserving reign. It was unfortunate that they couldn't pull the trigger at that exact moment, but hey, the future was bright. Then, an element of the 'universe' could not accept that they wouldn't receive what they wanted immediately, forcing the WWE into creating a quick fire glory moment with no future direction. There is no surprise at all the same element are now complaining that said discussed moment at WM now means nothing. It's a 'Feed me now, feed me more' mentality that cripples the industry. WWE saw the quick $ option, and took it, who can blame them. If half the 'fanbase' doesn't care about long term booking and planning, then why should they.

Who knows what long term damage he's done and if he'll be the same performer on return.

WWE saw the quick $ option, and took it, who can blame them. If half the 'fanbase' doesn't care about long term booking and planning, then why should they. I didn't say that at all. I am saying that everyone in the business is working beaten up because that's the consequence of everyone working so many dates. You're the one acting like I am saying everyone is horribly injured. You were talking about people demanding a tonne from superstars and causing them injuries, John Cena is the poster boy for that. He's lucky to not be in a wheelchair right now with all the rushes from surgery he's had so if you are saying Bryan's WrestleMania win was because the fans asked for it and WWE gave it to them, then what does that make the kids who support and love Cena and barely react outside of his appearances? Are they the same scumbags you consider the fans who cheered for Bryan? I want to hear where you heard that WWE wasn't going to push Bryan because he needed surgery. Also, if he needed major neck surgery, they had plenty of oppertunities when Bray took him out to do it. Heck, right after HIAC, Orton could have taken him out and he could have had the surgery then. History would have been different but they had outs. He's a WWE employee at the end of the day, if the company wanted him to go, he would have been written off. They wanted to take his heat and put it on Orton and it backfired on them hugely. They wanted Batista to be the conquering hero to beat Orton and it backfired on them horribly. That was all on them. They could have kept with it, and they have done it before, and if Bryan WAS injured, it would have still happened and we'd be talking about a completely different WrestleMania. And onto this 'feed me now, feed me more' mentality, I'm sorry, this is an industry that has the hardest time opening its ears and listening to its fans when something comes along that can shake up what they have. Nexus? Ryback? Ryder? Ziggler? Christian? When something different and new and getting a reaction starts up, 99% of the time, WWE finds a way to make them less interesting. The fact people were surprised they got The Shield right for almost the entirety of their run says a lot for that. I am convinced that WWE had a plan for Bryan and that Kane was the filler before they let more into that but other stuff happened to prevent it. I genuinely think he was going to feud with Bray and then lose to Lesnar but that's just me. Stuff changed that, obviously but I am not going to be convinced otherwise since 99% of the time, the feud after 'Mania is always a filler one. And now I am really done with this discussion. You seem to be coming up with things without evidence and I refuse to continue a discussion with someone who hates the facts that, for once, the fans were vocal about something and the company did the right thing and gave it to them.
