I wouldn't mind that, but I think they would need to have him around for every show until Survivor Series if they wanted to show credibility. I don't want to go from a champion who is injured and can't compete to a guy who isn't there every week to explain why he's champion. Just having Heyman come out, isn't going to cut it, and having Lesnar as nothing more than a transitional guy won't cut it. If he wins, he's going to need to pick up the slack, even if that means they need to pay him more.

Have him drop the belt in a "shoot" manner. He'll get even more over.

Give him as much time off as he needs. I don't think it'll effect his crowd reactions. If anything they'll build up while he's gone and explode when he returns.

While it truly truly truly truly sucks that Bryan will have to drop the title and be out longer than anticipated, I rather he look out for his long term health and well being than cripple himself for my entertainment.

They need to make his absence I to a slow burn and build up anticipation for whoever gets the belt next to face him.

I'm not a fan of his but how much heat would HHH get if he got the title?
Then for Bryan to return and beat him AGAIN, with the proviso being it's title and career on the line it would be kinda cool. Especially if Bryan wins.
You have then the anger from the one person HHH couldn't beat, sending HHH mad to tthe point he starts stacking up odds against Bryan, more and more, until he eventually loses the title.
Or something like that

With the exception of Lesnar, I don't think ANY veteran should get the title, that would be a redundant move at this point.
If you're going to do it, you need to tie it into what is going on, and the biggest thing right now is the Shield split, so there's my obvious choice.
If it goes to Orton, Cena, Triple H, Kane or one of the regulars...I'm probably going to stop watching for a while.
Use this opportunity to build, don't do the same shit AGAIN.

I would have no problem with Lesnar getting the belt.

I will also step up and suggest Bray Wyatt as a candidate for the title to coincide with Harper and Rowan winning the tag belts, which they seem to be getting groomed for. The only problem is that, outside of Cena, I don't see many viable opponents for him.

He's got the character down, but to be honest, he seems to be beyond winning a title. He doesn't need it. On top of that, he just lost his feud with Cena...and guess who I would assume would get first crack at the title?

All the viable tithe holders are either in the middle of something se or coming off losing matches or months of obscurity. No one could have planned on this, but WWE have kind of booked themselves into a corner.

Seth Rollins, Sheamus, Cesaro, Ziggler, Cody Rhodes. Those are your only guys that would make sense RIGHT NOW, and the latter three really don't.

Whatever gets us out of this feud with THE DEMON is fine with me. Bryan will be recovered fully, and then he'll have another spark of momentum in coming back, not feuding with THE DEMON, and chasing the championship once more.

I was thinking Cena takes it and loses it to Brock at Summerslam but I just noticed they are in Minneapolis tonight and though he isn't currently living there, he has always been associated with the city/state. Hmm....

Well, that's no good. At least now there shouldn't be any pressure on him to rush back and do further damage, but man alive, I've never seen a title reign where circumstance and luck just got so piled up against a guy that it never really got out of the starting blocks.
