Balotelli gives Liverpool nothing. They bought him because no one else was available. He just doesn't fit into their preferred style of play, and it's made worse when you consider that their defence is utterly spineless. They look scared and nervous. I wonder how many Liverpool fans are thinking "If only Loic Remy hadn't failed his medical..." Yeah, more to that than there seems I think. Certainly had no problems getting into Chelsea.

Remy I don't think would have been much help. He's quite injury prone, they wouldn't have had him at the moment anyway. At least Balotelli is usually fit and available.

I know I don't update about the Australian A-League much anymore, but one of their teams has claimed a huge win overnight. Western Sydney Wanderers, a team that has only been in existence for two and a half years after the collapse of some previous expansion teams, won the AFC Asian Champions League on a 1-0 aggregate score over Saudi Arabian Premier League team Al-Hilal. It's possibly the biggest tournament win in the history of the sport in Australia.

I watched the quarter-final where they were moments away from elimination against Hiroshima but got a last minute away goal. They then beat the defending champions in the semis. Definitely an impressive victory.

The Ched Evans case is certainly an interesting one. Personally I wouldn't want a convicted rapist playing for my team (Arsenal) and I doubt the reaction from Sheffield United fans has been overly positive.
Of course the law is he has served his time and now is free to restart his football career but it's not something I feel comfortable with. Convicted killers (Lee Hughes for example) have resumed their football careers so I think eventually he will return to football even if it's not for Sheffield United.

If I was running a football club, I wouldn't want him playing for it. From a mere public relations point of view he'd be toxic for the image of the club.
As for the FIFA report, it's no real surprise. I think pretty much everyone knew that FIFA would reach that conclusion.

been a while since i posted in here but a few things.
Moyes to Spain - good luck to him -
Mata available for 20m - seriously? He's united's best player.
Fifa report into fifa corruption - corrupt.
Evans - totally understandable response from those who sponsor and work closely with the club - the case that he served his time is fair I guess but it is still a fairly horrific thing to see that a convicted rapist is walking back into a job where young kids idolise the players - fairy or unfairly they are promoted as role models for kids to aspire to be (whether that should be the case is another story but thats the way it is) If he was a player at my club I wouldn't want him wearing the shirt - I know people who have been fired for comments on facebook -they were on a damn sight less than 5k a week too.
Puskas award: My top 3 - 3 Timmy Cahill - 2 kasami-1 Roche (take a bow lassie) How i think it will go 3: Van pervert 2: zlatan 1: rodriguez.
Euros - with stevie davis out of our match with Romania I can't see us making it 4 from 4 but a wee draw would do rightly - NBNI.

The biggest difference between Ched Evans and the likes of Lee Hughes and Luke McCormick is while they were utterly repentant about their crimes, Evans has acted like he is the victim in the whole situation.
