They were really selling 'Reigns is the future of this business' in that Shield documentary, weren't they? They well selling all three as the future if the business. I'm pretty sure that was a direct quote from Triple H in that doc as well.

Which is the right thing to do. I for one welcome the idea of two unstoppable beasts going at it at WrestleMania. Wish Granted! There's no way this match can go wrong!

I'm pretty sure that was a direct quote from Triple H in that doc as well. They were, but I got the distinct impression that it was a case of 'yeah, these guys are equals. But some are more equal than others'. You had plenty of people saying they were the future of the business, but the comments felt the most vehement to me when they were about Reigns. They talk about Ambrose being crazy and unpredictable and exciting, about Rollins being athletic and great to watch, and then with Roman it's "he's got everything you could possibly want from a WWE Superstar" (Joey Mercury). Well, he hasn't yet. He seems like a good guy, and I do think he has a big future, but he just hasn't been given the opportunity to develop the skills he needs to work long matches and carry feuds and deliver powerful promos. They should have given him more opportunity to have singles matches in the Shield, with lower cards guys like Slater and Ziggler, who would make him look good and help him develop.

This is a non-story. If, over the next eight months, Roman Reigns can get/remain over to the point where the fans *want* him to challenge Lesnar, it'll happen. But it won't come at the Rumble or HiaC, or anything like that. But if somebody *else* winds up becoming ultra hot in between now and then, WWE will consider pushing that person.
All I took from this story is that WWE is NOT going to try to squeeze Roman into the title picture immediately. And that's fine by me.

Is he going to wear that chestgear his entire career so people don't realize he's built like Zack Ryder with bigger arms?

Yeah. Reigns isn't the next Cena. At best he's the next Batista. A solid #2 face who can hold the title when the "The Guy" guy is either injured or preoccupied with a non title blood feud. He CAN be that because he's got a good look and can speak well on talk shows and the like, but they're taking that away from him with his presentation in the ring and wrestling style. It's like they can't decide whether they want him to be the monster powerhouse or the "All American Superhero" (I.e Cena/Bryan) so they want to have their cake and eat it too and have him be both. He's a shorter Kevin Nash, is what he is. So he'll be very entertaining and will get over despite limitations in the ring? Potentially even more over, since Roman is a lot better in the ring than Nash ever was (though not as good on the mic)

WWE needs to let the support for Reigns build organically. The moment fans realise he's been chosen as their new project, he'll lose momentum, because WWE will beat people over the heads with it.

Is he going to wear that chestgear his entire career so people don't realize he's built like Zack Ryder with bigger arms? The wrestling purist in me wishes he would change to his "Leakee" trunks. The modern wrestling fan in me realises Cena wears unorthodox wrestling gear and does fine. But yeah if Reigns is touted as such a beast, and he eventually goes without his vest and they see his flabby, non ripped belly like that one time he got stripped of it and stayed on his belly.

Do people want to see him go against Lesnar or do they just expect it? Huge difference.
