yes. I'd love for there to be a second big promotion in america but not one that's run as terribly as TNA.
the "it'll put people out of paying jobs" argument rings pretty hollow when you realize they usually can't even be bothered to pay their employees on time if at all.

Yes.
Look, I am aware of the ramifications of TNA closing its doors, but that's a short-term thing. While it will be difficult for any of the other promotions (Ring of Honor, Dragon Gate USA, CHIKARA) to get respectable TV time, I can see them presenting their product by showcasing what they have and also using TNA as an example as to what our promotion is not.
The bottom line is that a poorly-run and thoroughly incompetent promotion doesn't deserve to be America's #2 wrestling company by default. Why should we reward incompetence?

Guys I think we can all agree that we're sad about TNA's future, if they die we'll mourn it, but it's also depressing the way the company is currently in.

I don't want it to die... but it's like when you start playing SIMcity. At first, everything's going fine, you're making decent progress and everything seems to be going according to plan. Then after a while, you make one mistake... then another, then another, then you try to fix those mistakes by trying to reset everything back to the point where it once worked, then you start experimenting with ways to switch up the city, but that just ends up effing it up more. It gets to a point where you look at it, you see all the time and effort you've put into your city, you wish you could fix it... but really it's so far beyond simple fixing that the merciful thing is to just blow it up, delete your save and start over.

Part of me does, due to misstreatment of talent on every conceivable level by management throughout it's existence. The people whose had power in the past simply don't deserve to work in industry anymore due to their track records.
But then part of me doesn't because where else would I be able watch some of my favorite performers like Gail Kim or Samoa Joe on TV every week? WWE ain't gonna sign them, and I don't have the channel for ROH.

I don't want the company to die. For a few months in 2012 they were the best wrestling show on television with an amazing world champion in Bobby Roode. They are the only company to ever make me care about women's wrestling for longer than the space of one segment if one of them's wearing an especially sexy outfit. They have had some amazing wrestlers, and at one point had their own identity. They brought us Mick Foley as a world champion in 2009 which while a stupid idea, led to a mixture of genuinely great and flat out hilarious promos from Mick. Bobby Lashley is killing it as their champion.
I WANT TNA to succeed. What makes me so angry is how it so frequently absolutely fails to succeed. Everyone just f***ing turns heel all the time.
I don't want TNA to die. I want its corporate structure to die so that the company and the TV show can live on and succeed and flourish.

I just realized that if tna dies this forum closes too, as Cornfed and others have pointed out, the wwe board is a mess, you're bound to piss someone off and have someone piss you off, like the Dean Ambrose and CM Punk fans will always take something you said the wrong way, here at least we have rational discussions and if we strongly disagree about something we end up using valid arguments and 99% of the time we end up hugging it out.
Even if I want that tna would be put to sleep, I'm gonna miss this cool brotherhood of the tna thread.

Yes, and I don't need to feel bad for feeling that way. They've allowed to be on the air for at least 4 years longer than they should have.

Yes and No, Yes because it's become a pain to watch and No because I want to see it become the exciting alternative company again like it was from 2005-6. But I can't see that happening again.

I mean, we all know TNA are inept as Hell, but what are we gonna watch? There are plenty of things to do and watch in the world that don't involve pro wrestling.

The times when I have come close to FOLLOWING TNA were the days of 2005-2007. Beyond that, I would only put on Impact if nothing else was on and to see if there is some entertainment value. Sure, I don't follow WWE much, but I would gladly put it on if I happened to be flipping through channels.
As for TNA, I really don't remember the last time I had watched a full episode of Impact. Plus, I remember watching it at times and noticing how they tried to take shots at WWE. Some of the time I couldn't tell their identity. Are they trying to be their own entity? Are they trying to be something similar to "WCW Reborn"? Or are they trying to revive Attitude into their own promotion?
I don't want TNA to die but I can't see it lasting much longer. I can say something is being done right if it had lasted 12 years already and it has its own niche, but I don't know how it could last if the heavyweight that is WWE gets more ratings. Sure, it doesn't have to compete with WWE and be its own alternative to them, but I don't know how well it does, money-wise.

While I'm sure that this is a joke, wrestling fans take this nonsense way too seriously at times. It's scary how into it people can get and I'm sure that this is a legit question for someone out there.

There are plenty of things to do but one my favorites things is wrestling. I try to watch it as much as I can on regular TV. And the fact that there is something else than WWE is good to me. Even if TNA is flawed. Some people really have a trouble getting that.

The fact that "Yes" has won this poll sums up everything you could want to know about this forum.
No true wrestling fan wants a promotion to close down.

You know what you call a wrestling fan that gives a promotion like TNA a pass on all of the shit it has pulled on screen, as well as off the screen? To talent and staff? A mark.

You know what you call a wrestling fan that gives a promotion like TNA a pass on all of the shit it has pulled on screen, as well as off the screen? To talent and staff? A mark. What do you mean "A pass"? What do you think will happen if TNA goes out of business? That another promotion will quickly replace it? It took TNA two years to get regular TV, and three years to get on Spike. You can expect any replacement for TNA to take at least as long to get regular TV. It could take even longer since wrestling as a whole is unfashionable and in decline right now. There's an outside chance that no network will want to take on non-WWE wrestling ever again. And in the meantime there's one less place for wrestlers, writers and production staff to work. And you want that? And you say you're a wrestling fan?

I love the whole "true wrestling fan" argument.
Hey guys there's no true wrestling fans here.
There could be a multitude of reasons people want TNA to just die already. Morbid fascination on the end of a wrestling fed. Disgruntled former fans of it. WWE fans who think it's a contest, hell there's plenty of TNA fans who think the same way.
Could just be fans who are sick of TNA reinforcing every sterotype the non wrestling fan has about the "sport". Please don't start with the "losing jobs" argument. How many of those wrestlers for TNA utilize that pittance as their only income. The couple of office workers left and maybe one or 2 big names?
Maybe with the TNA contracts off their backs they could make more money in other places due to higher booking fees and can appear on TV/PPV/IPPV's now for other companies. If they can't then maybe they should just find a new line of business. To me that says more about the quality of the wrestlers that do appear on Impact every week, that if the show goes under they can't make enough money wrestling elsewhere to survive. Plenty of indy wrestlers can do it, why can't someone that's on a nationally broadcast TV show...unless the fact that that person will work for peanuts is the main reason they have a wrestling job in the first place.
So please, stop with this whole definition of "real wrestling fan" and lumping the people that post in the forum as such. This isn't the TNA Mecca fan boy board. It's a message board based on topics concerning TNA. If the major topic concerning TNA to people here is them living or dying, then guess what, they should be able to post their opinions about whether it does or not without having to deal with someone questioning if they are "real wrestling fans".
