Why would Sarah's 1984 boombox have that song on it though? In a world with time traveling killer robots, Axl and Slash can grind it out in 84. As part of a jam session with Prince, Morris Day and the Time.

But Marvel! They made money off of a shared universe so all shared universes will make millions of dollars! Yeah, tell a full story in your damned movie/game/whatever maybe leave teases for sequels or references to a further conflict... (The empire still exists at the end of Star Wars for instance) ... don't just assume that you'll have time to tell the full story at a later date. Otherwise you end with things like the game Too Human, which was announced to be the first of a trilogy! which flat out isn't happening. Even then, the MCU's films are relatively self-contained with the major plots of each film resolved. Yeah, but I meant in general everyone is trying to do the Marvel method... without actually understanding or even doing what Marvel have. International box office is really starting to mean a lot more to the film industry, probably because of some many domestic U.S. disappointments - and also because of the skyrocketing costs these film companies spend to make movies, too. It'll take a while longer for it to click in casual viewers or observers' minds, because nowadays seeing bad domestic takes means failure in their minds. Hence, focus more on international box office and there will be less "failures" in the viewers' or observers' minds. But from my undestanding, Hollywood still gets a better percentage from the Domestic than they do international.

This shouldn't be up for debate, video evidence that Genysis timeline T-800 attended a performance of the song while waiting for fake Reese and fake Sarah to emerge in 2017, and could totally have brought a tape of the song to the weapons compound.

Saw this Saturday. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. The action was fine, Arnold turned in an expected performance, Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke were both fine. But the time travel stuff was kinda needlessly complicated, and the big second act twist being ruined in the trailer really hurt the movie.
Jai Courtney is an alright actor, but didn't care for him as Kyle Reese. It's kind of nitpicky, but I always appreciated the Terminator 1 dynamic that Kyle Reese is just a dude. Nothing terribly special about him, he's just a scraggly, desperate looking guy who has clearly seen some stuff. Courtney was way too ripped and pretty and snarky.
All in all, solid 3 out of 5. Not the worst Terminator, not the best Terminator, clearly being used to set up for something in future sequels.

Terminator Genisys was a lot of fun. Don't know if I'd call it good, but I've had worse times at the movies.
And it was pretty much Hey! It's That guy!: The Cast

I didn't like it at all. I didn't like that it basically just rewrote everything from the first film, as soon as I realised what was going on I wasn't having any of it. It annoyed me that much that they would dare to do it.
O well at least Jurassic World was good.

Just got back and well, it's a headscratcher. Part of me wants to blame {Spoiler}{Spoiler} JJ Abrams for inspring people do alternate timelines with old franchises, but that would be unfair. Secondly, how does travelling 30 years FORWARD to prevent something make any sense? Wouldn't that be like travelling to August 1939 to stop Hitler from starting WW2 from say the 1910s? Why use time travel at alll?! You have a 30 year head start! Spend that time stopping all roads to Skynet. Hell, play the stock market while you're at it and make trillions as a treat. Stop tragedies like the Challenger while you're at it.

The movie presents 2017 as the point where Skynet is most vulnerable, so it makes sense to jump to that point rather than play the odds of trying to shut it down through other means in the past while avoiding constant attempts to kill them.

Saw it over the weekend. Confused and angry about {Spoiler}John Connor's heel turn. And what was his fate? Was he killed, or was history rewritten to where he never existed in the first place?

I actually really liked this. A lot of it was probably based on going in with rock bottom expectations, and naturally it can't hold a candle to the first two films but I wasn't expecting it to. Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke were both good, Jai Courtney was alright if a bit bland, Arnie was awesome, the action scenes were all pretty cool...it was basically everything that I was hoping Jurassic World would be in terms of "sequel driven largely by nostalgia and callbacks."

Watching it now and I love it for the most part.
BUT
I can not un-see pre-beard Daniel Bryan in this guy who is playing Kyle Reese.
