If they HAD to make a T3, I'd have reworked the original and had the resistance send a team of their guys to kill Miles Dyson's mother, but Skynet sends a terminator back to make sure she lives. Base it in the 1960's for a retro feel. You could have a bleak ending where once she finds out what the future will be, she kills herself.

T3 could have been a prequel to T1, set in 2029 with Connor sending Reese back. Not an opening scene but a full future war, showing their journey to SkyNet. T1 still happens and T2 ends it.

So I lost power last night due to a thunder storm so I ended up going to movies and saw Terminator. Honestly, it was ok. I'm probably going to be in the minority but {Spoiler}I thought the John Connor twist was actually pretty clever. It actually pisses me off that the studio gave it away in the trailers. Hollywood really needs to stop trying to make Jai Courtney a leading man though. He was by far the weakest part of the movie.

I watched this this morning, and thought it was a really fun terrible movie. Battlefield Earth meets Dumb and Dumberer When Harry Met Lloyd.

I too saw it last night. It's definitely more entertaining than T3. I haven't seen Salvation though. With that said I would give Genisys 5/10. The movie is dumb as hell and there are soooo many plotholes and inconsistencies. Also, the whole plot is still messy even if the movie tried to explain everything. With that said, the action scenes are pretty good. There are also a lot of 'so bad it's good' moments in the dialogue and the acting.

But I could watch this piece of garbage a bunch more times. It's dumb and bad and just one poor decision after another. Genisysysys...

Yeah, I listened to the WHM episode yesterday to ramp up for Genisys since I haven't seen T3 all the way through since I saw it in the theatre. The ending to T3 pissed me off to no end.

Is this the TNA of Terminator? It has fake Kyle Reese and fake Sarah Katniss Everdeen Connor. It's lulzy as f***. It has no real narrative structure to speak of. It goes from jacking off for 30 minutes all over The Terminator to a really half-assed mishmash of T2. It's baaaaaaad. I, Frankenstein bad, Dracula Untold bad, but using the much more limited and explicit iconography of T1 and T2 rather than the vagueries of those properties. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Then there's the creepy bonding scene between fake Kyle Reese and alternate dimension fake kid Kyle Reese. And of course like the round hole of the stakes-less Marvel movies they're trying to hammer the square peg of T1/T2 into, none of the main characters are in any kind of real peril and nothing is really resolved, with a post-credits "lol f*** you, none of this mattered" ending.

My buddy and I came up with a funny fan theory about Genisys yesterday after the movie: {Spoiler}Since Arnold waited for 33 years to meet up again with Sara and alternate timeline Kyle Reese, he needed something to do. Arnold's time as governor of California fits within that timeline. Thus, the Terminator was the governor of Califoria for a time while he waited those 33 years.

I haven't seen the movie yet but in the scene from the trailer when old Arnie approaches young Arnie, do we see Bill Paxton getting killed? Because this re-writing of history could have a butterfly effect where he and Shao Kahn reprogram Skynet to be the greatest laundry service instead of weapons defenses. With every order, a Terminator brings your clothes and says "laundry day, right"

Watched it last night as part of the early viewing. I didn't hate it as much as critics and some fans did, in fact, there were some good things about it which were mainly attributed to the beginning of the film. {Spoiler}I loved seeing more of the future war. But I also despise how they CGI everything in a Terminator film now. Would it kill them to have the T-800 endoskeletons be practical and actually scary? Also does Arnold's battle damanged skin need to be CGI too? I will say it was pretty clever how they managed to make Emilia look somewhat similar to Linda Hamilton, she even sounded like her with the "NOW SOLDIER!" But overall it's not very memorable and it's continued proof that if James Cameron isn't handling the franchise it's bound to be a letdown. I say get Edward Furlong cleaned up, have Linda Hamilton return, Arnold as well, and do a proper future centric prequel that ends with Skynet sending the T-800 back to 1984, Reese going back, and then officially end it with John reprogramming a T-800. That way it's the proper trilogy. But convince Cameron to return and have it done the right way.

Yeah, I told my friend that a certain angles Emilia Clarke does look a lot like a young Linda Hamilton. They clearly put the effort in to making her resemble Linda Hamilton, make a digital double of 1984 Arnie... Yet cast the least Michael Biehn-looking actor possible for Kyle Reese and make no effort to make him seem like the same character.

I'll say it again, the new 'unstoppable' Terminators get beat in every movie. It was OK the first couple of times, but at this point?
There's only so much you can fear these guys when they repeatedly can't do the job when they go back in time.
It would be like if Lesnar lost to Zack Ryder every show, but was still presented as some juggernaut.

I really enjoyed it. I understand why people didn't, but I admittedly went in with zero expectations. The movie had the difficult challenge of appealing to both older fans of the series while also trying to reinvent it for a newer generation. It didn't nail everything, but I thought it was solid. Hell, I'll say it - I enjoyed it more than Jurassic World. By far.

This movie made no sense at so many different points.
And I swear, people were mostly positive on T3 when it came out. At worst people thought it was meh. Now I see people acting like it is Transformers 2 level awfulness.
