Loved it, but hope he has the bat in future appearances. Does anyone think WWE forbids him to use the bat for some reason to do with health and safety? I doubt it though as HHH still uses the sledgheammer and theyre both controlled risks.

That music... ehhh but the rest was great. Really worth it. Hunter really sold it and Stinger was so stoic it was great. Also made Dolph look like a million bucks too

The thing that sold it for me - he only seemed to blink about twice the whole time he was out there. He stared a death hole through HHH. Great character work. In a way, this is kind of a throw back to the days when he first adopted the Crow gimmick. "Against an army of shadows comes a dark warrior with a voice of silence and a mission of justice..."

Yeah seriously lost my shit to be honest. Loved his little look to the crowd during the "This Is Awesome" chant.
And he NAILED that Death Drop. HHH hit the mat hard.

I've waited for this moment since Vince teased it when he bought WCW...it took 13 long f***ing years...but for seeing that moment it was all worth it.

I was psyched out for Sting but that was just so underwhelming now that I finally got to see it. It's not the fault of any of the performers though.
If you've got Sting's WCW theme...you use that badass theme. Throw me in with the crowd not liking his E theme.
He really should have either repelled down or just appeared after the lights went out. Something's just silly about Sting just chilling backstage all night and the people in charge having zero clue.
That staredown felt like it lasted a year. Considering it was similar to Austin helping Foley win the title...I wish it had been handled similar with Sting and HHH staring each other down on the ramp way before Sting leaves Ziggler to his moment.
Not trying to nitpick since I was a huge WCW fan but I just didn't get the goosebumps I thought I would...and that makes me sad.

This may have been pointed out (15 pages!), but I just realized JBL (probably unwittingly) referenced and acknowledged TNA and its title history when he called Sting a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Sting's second reign as NWA World Heavyweight Champion took place in NWA:TNA. So this is a rare case of WWE acknowledging TNA and their title history, although I'm sure they didn't realize it. JBL probably went on wikipedia or something and saw the two-time NWA Champ stat and said it on the air.

After the tragic death of Owen you're never going to see a wrestler repel down to the ring ever again.

I was thinking the same this morning, but didn't ever watch TNA enough to know the history of it's title, etc. He definitely seen it on wiki or something and didn't really dig.

I feel like an asshole for not being as excited about this. It was a good moment, major historic implications with his showing up tonight. I hope that the plan is Triple H vs. Sting at Wrestlemania, he really let TNA expose him in a really big way and I don't have a lot of confidence in him really performing at a level worthy of his hype. But people probably felt the same way about Flair post WCW and he turned it around so we'll see. I thought that when he'd show I'd snap out of it and just be thrilled to see him but, nah, not really. While I was happier about it, I totally do get your concerns. I hope that WWE will kind of work with what he has, rather than try to make him something in the ring he can't be anymore, but I think they can probably pull it off with the right opponent, and Triple H could probably work with his assets well.

As a grown adult, its harder to suspend belief and get lost in the fantasy of it. I agree about the music and entrance, but it was still a moment for the ages.

If I was 15 I´d be going crazy but it was still a legendary moment Hell if Austin, my favourite of all time, came back... If I was 15, I would be going CRAZY. But now as I head towards 30? If Austin came back and he was atually getting a program and setting up a match and made an epic, destructive return and took down a bad guy with a huge pop as the glass breaks. It would be incredible. But with my older eyes I would probably notice he had lost a step or looked a bit older or something

I didn't watch TNA at all but I'm guessing he competed pretty regularly? I reckon with this stint he will have at an absolute max three matches so I'm sure that WWE and Sting himself will be able to work towards these appropriately. There is not going to be any kind of regularity about it at all which will help things a lot when it does come to actual ring action.

So, am I the only one who dug the music? Seems that way so far. Put me with the ones thinking it should have been the orchestral theme with a MUCH more grand entrance. It should have rivaled Taker's and Muta's grandest.

Yeah, I think the original WCW music would have been more recognizable (I also think it's odd that they gave the original music to video game Sting...a patch to give people an option, perhaps?)...but just from the standpoint of quality of the music, I thought it was all right.

It was better than Cesaro's or Pip farting on a snare drum, but not their best option imo.
