So Reigns is the supposed face of a horrible television product.
Not exactly something to brag about right now.

This has to be either a swerve or horrible marketing, because the over-saturation of Reigns has become comical. I watched the intro (first one in months) and laughed when Reigns ended it. I don't think people would even want favorites like Ziggler or Bryan to get that much exposure. The variety is nice, too. Let Bryan be on one poster, Reigns on another. Ziggler ends the Raw intro, but Ryback ends the WWE signature, I don't know. WWE's problem with Cena was letting him get all of the exposure, which puts them in trouble when he's gone. Like they say with money, spread out your investments. It will make you more in the end.

Really? This warranted a thread?
And I thought getting threads on every little thing CM Punk did was bad...

There can only be 1 number 1.
Maybe it'll be reigns. This place has gotten crazy lately. And for the record, my personal favorite is bryan. I just have felt like reigns has been getting weird hate lately.

People criticize fiction all the time. I don't know why some people don't get that wrestling can fall under the same scrutiny as everything else. No one said it couldn't be. What I'm getting at is that is seems more and more that people aren't happy that their faves are being featured in the first place and that because they are you fave that they MUST be this or have their career go this way because wah, he/she is my favorite. I'll use Ziggler as an example. I love the guy to death and hope he finally makes, but I'm more than happy that they guys still goes out there and puts on great matches with whomever and is able to work any storyline thrown at him. I appreciate the time they get on TV but so much better can be done for everyone not just the 4 or 5 people they feel like. OK, but do you realize that not everyone is going to be X champion because we need to have jobbers/curtain jerkers/etc. I hope you understand that. Not everyone can be champion. But everyone should matter to varying degrees. The guys on the roster who currently are jobbers/curtain jerkers should be in contention for titles right now. The guys on the roster who are good enough that they should at the very least be jobbers/curtain jerkers don't even wrestle on TV all that much, if at all.

Someone told me Vince gave Reigns a handshake that was a few seconds longer than he normally gives Cena. I wonder what that could mean.

For once it wasn't Cena doing his stupid salute.

this is kind of a big deal though. i don't really see it as nit picking.
let's say Cena is the hood ornament on a Cadillac. if you take Cena off the Caddy and replace it with Roman Reigns people are going to take notice.
it's not Ziggler. or Rollings. or Bryan that replaced Cena. It's Reigns.
them changing it kind of says something that everyone already knows, acknowledging and pointing it out is not being petty, it's just observing the happening.

I'm not Reign's biggest fan, but is it really necessary to point out every single thing (no matter how small) that may indicate a push? Considering the way most of these discussions go, I really think they're unnecessary. Roman Reigns competed on RAW last week! He's obviously being shoved down out throats!

You're too chill for this forum. Turn in your key to the Executive bathroom and members' card. You must either hate Roman or want to have his babies. No in between. Lies there is a between. Lots of haters have hate boners for Reigns and want to hate f*** him. I don't blame them. You hate your mortal enemy more when he's super gorgeous with an amazing mane of hair! TOTALLY UNFAIR

Golden star sticker for you for trying to lowkey throw your faves into the argument.

why suddenly in 2015 has everybody decided that the greatest outrage a wrestling company can bestow upon its fans is to push someone?
Promoters push people that is the point of what they do. there seems to be a strange attitude now where fans rally against whoever is being pushed on the basis that the promoter has decided to push them
it kind of belies an understanding of what the industry has always been

Here's the current problem with booking Reigns: he needs either some clean losses to build up sympathy, or some clean wins to build up dominance. There either needs to be a redemption story (can he snap his losing streak with a Rumble win?) or an aura of invincibility (have him squash the entire heel mid-card on his way to the Rumble).
Right now, he's a guy who can't beat Rollins, can't beat the Big Show, and who needs 10 minutes to beat Fandango. And the casual fan is supposed to believe that he can beat Lesnar? I get that they need him to work on promos and selling in long matches, but save that for Smackdown and the house shows. On RAW, it should be all about telling the story.

I'll say this. If this is a "mega-push", holy shit WWE is doing a terrible job. He can't even beat freaking Big Show clean? Wow, what a star.

It's that they don't want to give away a definitive finish for free. I guarantee you, Reigns will be making Big Show his bitch come Royal Rumble.

How is an extended feud with Big Show consisting of awful matches supposed to groom somebody for the Mania main event? If this is a megapush, they are going about it in the worst way possible.
