The article on ESPN is saying the "kick" is what did the damage, but take that with a grain of salt. Like I said, F*** ESPN. The only reason they are covering this is because they think it will be their shot at WWE because of an ex-WWE guy. You could tell that by the freaking headline.

Some people are criticizing Konnan for shaking Aguayo, but I'm not going to pile on. I bet he thought Aguayo was just knocked out cold, not that he was dead/dying, hence the shaking. 99.9% of the time in that type of case, the guy is just knocked out, no different than a UFC guy getting knocked out. Shaking him wasn't the best thing to do, but it's an unprecedented situation. When Misawa died, that was at the end of the match and Bison Smith (RIP) saw Misawa was knocked out and yelled at the ref to end it, which he did.

If ESPN is "reporting" something wrestling related, it's something bad. Wether it's Owens death, Macho dying, or this, someone has probably died, and they're going to sensationalize it and use it as click bait.

The worst impact seemed to be when Konnan pushed him off the bottom rope and his head hit the mat. That was the closest thing to a neck break, I saw.

Something miniscule I noticed about the video, guys probably could have done the finish on a different side of the ring other than the one Perro was lying on. Not saying that had anything to do with the death, just probably didn't need that side of the ring to finish the match.

I only became familiar with his work recently against Alberto, he played an awesome rudo and had awesome chemistry with Konnan. His promos were awesome, I also loved his theme song. May he rest in peace.

So strange how that spot could snap his neck. It looks like he literally fell collar bone first if anything.

So f***ing tragic. It's things like this that make me glad that after 6 and a half years I got out of the business at Christmas. Can't imagine how Rey must be feeling right now. R.I.P Perro.

Christ, I can't believe the amount of incompetence when it comes to handling a situation like that.
I'm not saying his life could have been saved, but you may help his chances by removing him from the ring as soon as possible. Allowing him to be continually draped over the rope NECK FIRST is hurting his chances of getting oxygen to the brain.
When someone is LIMP, get them help immediately. Don't think they're just knocked out or selling.

this is why there needs to be training.
Wrestlers are not going to necessarily know what to do if someone is dying in the ring. They are just majorly concerned with keeping the show going. There however needs to be a third party that is medically trained, that follows a protocol in these situations.

It's a damn shame that Perro survived all the serious health and drug issues that plagued his career & life the past decade and him suddenly dying from a relatively simple routine. I feel for all the people involved in the match, Perro's friends, and his family. Sadly, this shows the reality of that anything can go wrong during a match.
Vaya con dios, El Hijo del Perro Aguayo.

Well, you might as well tell him eventually, because it will be so much worse if he gets the news from a news article.

I won't pile on Konnan because I understand things being heat of the moment, but do realize that you should never shake someone who you think is knocked out, either. Like, ever. If something happened to knock them out, they likely have a concussion. Konnan knows this. Every decently-trained wrestler knows this.

Unbelievable. Rey wanted the chance to end his career on his own terms, and now he's despised in his homeland for something that wasn't his fault.

Makes you appreciate what these guys do to entertain us even more.
I really feel for Rey Mysterio, I hope he gets support through this time too.

That's what gets me is that the wrestlers all seemed to know something wrong was going on but the ref just walks up and looks at him and then walks off. The ref could have gotten down to check on him without destroying any illusions or breaking kayfabe. It just doesn't make sense that he just stood back and didn't even check.
