Slightly playing Devil's Advocate here..I think it's weird to take pictures unawares but do you guys get as outraged at People of Walmart? Or the thousands of videos people take of arguments and fights going on? I'm curious as to where the line is for some of you. Also, and again just playing Devil's Advocate here, but having shorts that short, what kind of attention do you think this person wants? Not blaming this girl in any way, so don't take my words out of context, I'm just saying if you dress for attention (and having your ass cheeks hanging out of your shorts is certainly dressing for attention) is it that surprising when one gets it? I could walk around a mall in a leather clown outfit, but would it be wrong of someone to take a picture of me in it unawares? Just curious. I realize you're playing Devil's Advocate. Personally, I am bothered by 'People of Walmart' type pictures, as I am of basically any picture taken of someone for the purpose of mocking that person's appearance. I'm probably more bothered by that kind of things than most. For instance, I personally just don't get much enjoyment out of segments like on Jimmy Kimmel where he sends out someone to ask questions of random people on the street for the purpose of having fun at their expense. I just don't get much enjoyment out of anonymous people being made to look like fools, particularly when it's being done by celebrities for a laugh. You're a big shot from a big corporation (ABC/Disney) using your resources to mock regular people. I realize I am probably way in the minority here. I just don't like the idea of people taking pleasure in mocking people, particularly average, anonymous people. Interestingly enough, Jimmy Kimmel has a segment where he has celebrities read 'mean Tweets' from regular, anonymous people. He's okay with famous people mocking average people, but not okay with average people mocking celebrities.

Or theyre in Miami and its f***ing hot out. Not everything revolves around you. You seem very touchy there. I know where they are. I simply asked a question. I get annoyed when people say stupid, arrogant things like you just did. Yes, it is wrong. Its none of your business what other people wear.

Ah body shaming, the new PC-over reaction buzzword. It will be replaced within a couple of years with some other "OMG I'm so offended!" Term. Should he have posted someone's pic without consent? No. But I am not going to crucify him for it. Standards just change over time, so I don't see the issue of body image going away entirely soon. It probably doesn't apply to this case, but it's not a buzzword, it's a real problem. You and I will just have to agree to disagree. This is not a problem until someone uses this term. Before about five yrs ago I had never heard it used. I'm not putting anyone down when I say this but, it has become a way to excuse one's self by claiming fat shaming body shaming. Not true in everyone. Far from it. But some people who are able to change their image if they say they do want to, will quit or deflect by using those terms. Some people. I had weight issues, smoked, drank to excess and benge ate while in tears because I benge ate. I felt stuck. Years down the line someone helped me see how to help myself so I improved my self image, lost weight, quit smoking/drinking/benge eating. I used my own failure to motivate myself and did not deflect. Won't work for everyone. Some people do body shame others with malice in their mind. That is wrong. But some comments get labeled as body shaming and are not. That's just my opinion and you are most welcomed to your opinion ser.

But some comments get labeled as body shaming and are not. That's just my opinion and you are most welcomed to your opinion ser. I think it's mainly because so much of advertising (and society, but there are books on that) is developed by men. We've set too unrealistic a ideal both for ourselves with the pressure to have six pack abs, and even more on how we want the opposite sex to look in our imagination. Nowadays more people are basically picking up on how badly that affects people, especially regarding gender, hence the increased scrutiny on body image and acceptance. I'll admit that causes me to have a double standard on what I joke about. Like if I heard someone ragging on Jack Black (I'm a fan, for the record) and they went after his weight, I'd probably laugh, but I probably wouldn't if that same person went after Gabourey Sidibe's weight. Since Jack Black's a white dude and Sidibe's a black girl, she probably couldn't have been as successful as Black looking the way she does if Lee Daniels hadn't taken a chance on her and cast her in Precious. It's a complicated issue with a lot of world history behind it, but there are good reasons as to why Buble's in a hole now.

It doesn't appear to be a "body shaming" issue. It appears to be more of he and his wife admiring some stranger's ass.
It's also an example of people who seemingly can't observe something unique without having to take a f***ing picture to document it. People can't seem to live in the moment anymore without taking a thousand pictures.

People can't seem to live in the moment anymore without taking a thousand pictures. It's more or less a matter of playing the odds. Nowadays, 99 percent of the population walks around with a camera that is linked to the internet. So of course, people are going to take a picture and tell everyone "Yo fellas, check this out! Crazy shit!" As I mentioned in a previous post, Buble isn't doing anything unusual. He's just getting singled out because he's a celebrity with a lot of followers.

He might not be doing anything that we all don't do. However the difference is that he posted it online.

But as I said earlier, he's a celebrity who's followed by more than his friends and relatives. Thus, his picture is getting more attention and hate. And it probably doesn't help that a lot of those people don't know him. In that sea of followers across the internet, you know there are a bunch who are self righteous or judgemental and won't hesitate to post their opinion for all to be heard. Again, I'm not condoning his actions. Just trying to explain. Why this is blowing up the way it has.

All I know is I would be absolutely mortified and angry if someone (especially someone famous) took a sneaky picture of me and posted it online. The girl is entitled to go about her business without people mocking her.

To me, what a non-story. Michael Buble: kind of a sleazeball (but hardly, in the grand scheme). Woopedie doo.
This is the thing about social media: everyone has different standards/norms, because it's a relatively brand-new medium and we have to establish those things. This is part of the process, I get it. I just don't think the process is even worth the effort, because social media isn't going to make our lives any better.

In fairness, it's not like anyone knows it's her outside of MAYBE close friends. She could always go: "You don't scare me, that could be anyone's ass!"

He posted a voyeuristic photo of a stranger's ass. That's creepy. And I've seen people say, "Well, he meant it as a compliment." Okay, cool. Next time you see an attractive stranger on the street, just go ahead and take their picture without their permission and justify it by saying, "But I think you're hot!" Lemme know how that works out. Maybe people should think about this before they go out in public wearing something that just barely covers their ass cheeks. It wasn't even body shaming so wtf

For all of the stupid things people argue about on social media, it's also connected a lot of different people who previously felt like they were alone in some regard, only to find out others had similar interests or identities- or that they weren't the only ones who were dealing with their specific problem. In that sense I think it's making people's lives better already, so I get why so many take it seriously.

You're literally saying, "She was asking for it."
