I'm waiting for a contrarian critic to give it a positive review just to mess with the score and be a contrarian.
The first movie made almost $150 million in the U.S. alone. I have a feeling this is making a fraction of that.

I have a feeling this is making a fraction of that. No doubt, it's a sequel that wasn't really asked for and it's going against Furious 7, and Unfriended, which is getting a whole hell of a lot more positive buzz than Blart. This dumpoff makes it seem like the studio knows it's going to wind up as a write-off.

no, this isn't true. i cannot believe it. i will not believe it! no matter how terrible it is, no matter how soul crushingly unfunny it is, there is no way it can be less critically received than Grown Ups 2. for god sake, i didn't even see one burp snart in the commercial.

Sadly it will probably make money.
To a lot of people it will look like a safe innocent movie.

I admit it, I laughed when the horse kicked him in the commercial.

With the trend of trailers giving all the best gags... Yeah this movie has nothing going at all if that is the case.

Can't stand movie snobbery. Sometimes people just want light relief that doesn't require a lot of thinking. There's nothing wrong with that.

There is a difference between snobbery and something that sucks.
For example, I wouldn't want to eat steak all the time. Some days a burger would be good, even a $1 double cheeseburger from McDonald's. Still, I at least expect them to cook it well.

Rotten Tomatoes goes by basically "thumbs up or thumbs down?" and then turns that into a percentage of reviewers. By that metric, it's more a measurement of general tastes than how good it specifically is, and accessible movies can beat out a lot of "masterpiece" sorts of films, if I understand the metric they go by. It's possible I don't.

A sequel no one asked for to a comedy not many liked is doing badly?
Shocking.
It's even worse when you think about how many starving homeless people could have been fed with the films budget.

Can't stand movie snobbery. Sometimes people just want light relief that doesn't require a lot of thinking. There's nothing wrong with that. The number 1 movie at cinemas right now isn't exactly a movie that requires a lot of thinking, and it's gotten good critical reception. Guardians of the Galaxy, 22 Jump Street, and Kingsman weren't thought provoking movies either, but they were more than well received and did fantastic at the box office. It's not movie snobbery, it's just that nobody's submitted a good review for Blart, it didn't entertain them.
