This is the right idea, but I'm gonna go with "Wait a few years for them to re-release the game and the four/five $15 each DLC packages all in one $40 dollar 'Game of the Year Edition'" instead. Not bad, though for me I'd mostly wait until some fun user created stuff is out there. This is why I'm teetering between playing it safe and getting it on PS4, or getting a new computer to play it on. All the previous Bethesda games, I've played them until I got bored, then bought them for cheap on PC and modded the shit out of 'em. But now, I could just get it off the bat and mod the shit out of it after a clean run!

Interested in this. I had never really played a Fallout game before I started playing 3 a few weeks ago and the series has already turned into one of my favorites and I am already looking forward to New Vegas as soon as I finish the 3 DLC.
That being said I also know that unless they put it on PS3 as well which seems unlikely, I am going to be waiting even longer before I am able to play it. I don't think my PC can handle it and I have zero desire to drop money for a PS4 when there are still a boatload of last gen games I have yet to play. That being said when I do finally make the jump to current gen Fallout 4 will almost certainly be one of the first games I buy.

Well in the meantime, there's always New Vegas, which I found to be far better than Fallout 3 (which was already very good), and of course, there are the old-school games. Oh and give Fallout Tactics a try too. It's an underrated classic. Edit: also, 10 minutes left in the countdown as of this writing!

Aaaaand... nothing.
...
... is... is it supposed to still just show the test pattern thing with the "please stand by" message, only without a clock? Because that's what I'm getting.
EDIT: evidently no.

Yeah, the site flickered like the beginning of the Video Retro posted at 0... but it didn't do anything... Bethesda messed up by announcing it early and then couldn't get the trailer up at 0 apparently

Just watched the trailer and looks like we're back into the Capital Wasteland! The question is, what's the story gonna be now? From what I've seen, looks like a new vault we haven't heard about and the Brotherhood seems to be intact. We have a new protagonist and he actually talks! Graphics look amazing of course.

Then this message appeared; Clicking the buttons did nothing. Refreshed and now the trailer is there.

Seems a similar set-up to Fallout 3. We'll see, really love lots of the familiar elements along with different styles (like the Protectron with the visual display) and some very interesting locations. Very exciting!

A functioning and appearantly huge Vault City-esque underground society right underneath the ruins of an (apart from the missile silo) unremarkable small town. That sounds pretty cool. You can play that from a lot of angles, you could have the be vault dweller like a city-slicker greenhorn coming to the wild frontier, or like a rogue agent spying on the overworld while trying to keep the location of his home hidden from the local powers, or maybe this time the formula is reversed and you could play as a wastelander who stumbles over this futuristic underground city and has to use his survival skills while learning to adjust to city politics and bureaucracy and the million little trapfalls of civilization.
