Looking forward to this so much. That was incredible!

I'm going to wait a while on it. 3 was aight but New Vegas was a faaaaaaaaaar superior written and designed game. People go on about the Capitol Wasteland and it's encounters while ignoring the massive distance that you have to cover to get somewhere, New Vegas just feels much tighter designed.
What I'm saying is that I'd be much more confident if it were Obsidian making this instead of Bethedsa.

looks like you're gonna have the dog as a companion maybe he can attack enemies too? Dude, every single Fallout game (Except for probably Brotherhood of Steel but nobody counts that) had a dog companion. They weren't strong but they counted outside of the companion limit so you could have a human/super mutant/ghoul companion and an animal or robot.

Yeah, looking at this, I'm a little disappointed that we'll likely be returning to the Capital Wasteland. I know Obsidian's not popular with all the glitches, but they know how to write a mean story, and New Vegas was my favorite installment in Fallout. Bethesda can produce a more stable game, but it doesn't lend itself to strong storytelling or topographical know-how. I mean, in Fallout 3, we had a community of children next to a radioactive hellhole where Super Mutants made a base of operations. Especially when you have to go through wide swaths of land to reach isolated regions you must visit for quests, but it would be better served if you had a series of checkpoints like communities you could reach and use as a base of operations when you want to prepare for exploring areas that are full of deathclaws. And I liked you because you are pro-Obsidian. Also, I got a bad feeling the Enclave will return once again as the main villains. I thought Fallout 3 and Broken Steel took care of the heart of their operations, so it's once again a return to the Universal approach to Spyro villains when they, and not Insomniac, made those games, where they were like "Oh, let's bring back Ripto and the Rhynocs every time we make a new game, even though Ripto apparantly died in Ripto's Rage".

They weren't strong but they counted outside of the companion limit so you could have a human/super mutant/ghoul companion and an animal or robot. Unfortunately, you can have a dog companion in Brotherhood of Steel if you spend points on that trait. So, every game has the potential to use Dogmeat.

I told myself I'd get a PS4 or XB1 if this was announced. I still am, but it might be a long time. Have a lot of financial commitments to meet before I begin to even think of getting one. At least this didn't excite me SO much that I feel bad for not having one. I still have a lot of work to do in Fallout 3 and A LOT to do in New Vegas (particularly the main quest ). It still looks amazing. I just wish there was more to it. It looks great, but I wanna see what else is brand new other than the locales and graphics.

IT'S REAL!! IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! Just watched the trailer and looks like we're back into the Capital Wasteland! The question is, what's the story gonna be now? From what I've seen, looks like a new vault we haven't heard about and the Brotherhood seems to be intact. We have a new protagonist and he actually talks! Graphics look amazing of course. Not sure if it straight-up is the Capital Wasteland but it does look similar. Although this new vault certainly isn't part of it and some of the locations shown definitely look new, but then one of them looks like a bigger Megaton. At first I thought the boat might be Rivet City but it's obviously a completely different type of boat. Perhaps it will be an expended Capital Wasteland, covering a wider area and with some of the towns having thrived since the events of Fallout 3 (access to water that won't give you cancer has got to help a town grow). What I really, really like about this trailer is that it looks so colourful! Even the wasteland version of the locations look like they have a lot more colours than the previous games. New Vegas already did tone down the "real is grey" style of Fallout 3 but this looks like it takes it much further. Hell! Even the vault door is more colourful! I wonder if the flashbacks to the pre-bombs stuff will actually be relevant to the story or if it's just there for illustrative purposes. I'm also curious about the incomplete power armour at the end. Is it a prototype? Something made from scratch by some random person? Will it be significant in the story? Anyway, let the Hype Train begin! Here are some screenshots of interesting stuff I noticed: 1:38 That looks like the Washington Monument, but what's the deal with the bridge/highway thing next to it? Also, it appears people have settled around it. 1:41 Does this guy look like Lucas Simm to anyone else? Maybe his grown-up son? Also, the sign on the building to the left reads "Memory Den", perhaps a reference to The Den from Fallout 2? 1:45 Town on a bridge... could it be Arefu? Also, the Mirelurk looks like it's less anthropomorphic than in the previous games. 1:54 One of the signs reads "Diamond City Surplus" (hard to make out in this screenshot but easily visible in the trailer), so I think it's fair to say we already have the name of one town. 1:59 Vertibirds AND a blimp?! Looks like the Enclave is back with a vengeance! At 2:01 you can see a poster for GNN, a.k.a. Galaxy News Network. It's been present since the very first game so it's probably just a bit of continuity nod, but it's interesting to note it's based in Washington D.C.

I'm not sure why people think this is the Capital Wasteland. It's very obviously Boston.

I only saw Boston in AC3, so I can't comment on if it is or not.
Just that this looks amazing.

Looks like the world is improving with every game. And it's all thanks to the Lone Wanderer.

If the Vaults really are numbered by location west to east then 111 certainly would have to be somewhere on the east coast. The trailer makes it look more like a small town or a suburb than a major metropolitan location though. I hope that it's not just the same DC and parts of Maryland as in FO3 all over again.

The trailer makes it look more like a small town or a suburb than a major metropolitan location though. I don't know, there are some pretty big buildings in the background of some of the shots, not to mention several shots show some pretty busy streets. I imagine there will be one big nexus with some smaller areas surrounding it, which was pretty much already the case in New Vegas.

Oh thank goodness the trailer isn't some CGI bullshit.

To further confirm/support Boston, there's a good few seconds of the Paul Revere Monument/Statue in the trailer.

I'm so excited for this. Exactly what I was hoping for out of Bethesda.
