October/November 2016 release is my guess Well, it was 4 months between the first proper teaser of Fallout 3 and the game coming out, and 8 months between the teaser and release for New Vegas. So, maybe there is just a chance they might get it with people in time for Xmas. I'll likely do what I normally tend to do with their games - hold off for a couple months. I love 'em to death but, in part due to the vast worlds created, they do tend to have a lot of bug fixes and glitches to sort out early on. About two weeks ago, I received a new patch for Fallout 3, so yeah, there's going to be plenty of glitches.

So, anyone else hoping we get a random encounter of a supermutant in jorts and a brightly coloured shirt in the settlement of "Wesnubery" that has ridiculously high HP? It's a shame Nightkin are exclusive to the West Coast, because it would be even funnier if it activated a Stealth Boy and went "You can't see me!" You know what would be a cool Easter egg. Picking a 'very hard' lock to a downstairs bar in downtown Boston.. And it's the exact layout for the bar from Cheers.. Except all dilapidated... With maybe a skeleton sitting on the stool at the far end of the bar. Both would be awesome references, but the main issue was that Fallout 3 didn't have as much meta humor or pop culture references as the rest of the series, and in New Vegas, the Wild Wasteland trait was a compromise between Bethesda (who wanted a serious game) and Obsidian (who wanted a goofy experience). So, I probably don't see them going that far unless they decide to bring back the Wild Wasteland trait.

I'm a bit disappointed it's Boston. I know none of Bostons landmarks so exploring won't be as fun as New Vegas or the Capital Wasteland.
For those more knowledgeable about the Fallout World, what factions are active in Boston? Guessing the NCR and the Legion are out. How about The Enclave? Hsve they ever been mentioned to be in Boston?

For those more knowledgeable about the Fallout World, what factions are active in Boston? Guessing the NCR and the Legion are out. How about The Enclave? Hsve they ever been mentioned to be in Boston? One of the things about the series is that the power structure is typically changing pretty rapidly, so there's always a lot of new factions. As for the northeast, I'm pretty sure it's actually pretty underdeveloped, so who knows what we might see. Fallout Tactics took place outside of Chicago and had the Brotherhood of Steel, although the canon status of that game is dubious. But given the BoS's presence in Washington, we could probably assume they'll be in Boston. Same goes for the Enclave. It seems as though they were sort of pushed East, given their presence in Fallout 3 and lack of presence in New Vegas. The original supermutant army was pushed eastward after Fallout, and they were in Tactics. So there might be some reference or mention to them in Boston. The villain of Tactics was a supercomputer called the Calculator, and one of th epossible endings was that it survived. So it's possible that we'd see some cyborg/robot factions as well. But I'd expect a lot of new factions, similar in role to previous ones. Different raiders groups, maybe some masonesque group, some references to the Founding Fathers, so on and so forth.

Hsve they ever been mentioned to be in Boston? This is a strange observation, but I got a feeling Fallout 4 will feature the Commonwealth, which in Fallout 3, was regarded as an advanced and intellectual community in the Wasteland that had the ability to create androids. If they have that technology, certainly they'd also include nuclear-powered airships and blimps as their list of capabilities. As for the Enclave, it was established that only two areas that had a specific kind of supercomputer existed; a military base called Raven Rock, and an off-shore oil rig off the coast of California. Both were destroyed, as well as Adams Air Force Base and Navarro, so that eliminates the two major locations in the country the Enclave were a part of, which is why I'd be irritated if they brought them back a third time. We might see a variant of the Enclave Remnants that still hold dear to the beliefs of the old philosophies, but they might just be like Brotherhood Outcasts; a splinter group. I'm gonna go out of my way and guess the antagonists are people that misinterpreted the Revolutionary War (bungling of key events can happen with the loss of information due to the collapse of civilization, as Abraham Washington got every other part of the story of the Declaration of Independence wrong) and are sort of an army of Redcoats who feel it is their task to quell the interlopers who dare take the land for themselves instead of supporting "the Old Country".

All I know is I played Fallout 2 on Christmas Day 2008 and felt like throwing it in the fire. I don't get the hype.

Just watching the whole stream on Bethesda Softworks Youtube page.
Hitting the high notes - detailed home & settlement crafting, weapon and armour crafting, male or female voiced player character, VATS and SPECIAL retained, armour can now be individual pieces (chest, each arm, each leg) and the Collector's Edition comes with a life-sized Pipboy you can wear.
And it's out on November 10th this year.

Heh, it's really funny actually thinking now...Fallout 3 was what made me finally make the next-gen jump. Fallout 4 is going to do the same thing.

Is it still just walking everywhere?
Hoping for some rideable creature. Like horses in Skyrim.
Rideable Deathclaw maybe?

I'm still kinda in awe that this game is even a thing.
I only started to get into Fallout 3, New Vegas last year and it seems I picked a great time to start with them now that I get the chance to own one on the PS4 before this year even ends.
Life is cool.

Is it still just walking everywhere? Hoping for some rideable creature. Like horses in Skyrim. Rideable Deathclaw maybe? I feel these games are long overdue for drivable vehicles. Fallout 2 and Tactics technically had it, but F2 only had one and it really wasn't worth the effort (especially considering it consumes ammo you could use for plasma/laser weapons) and was more useful fort storing stuff than anything. Tactics' were a bit better but again, they weren't particularly great. I'd love to be able to repair one of the cars or motorcycles you comes across and ride it, the trade-off being that you need to find fuel and they could be destroyed. Also, raiders on motorcycles would be badass and a genuine threat.
