Man I'd consider Cena alot better in ring talent than Rock. Like I said Cena is not an all time great in-ring, and I love both these guys but inside those ropes Cena is streets ahead of The Rock. I don't know man. Rock could SELL and moved around a lot better. Cena's got his strengths too, but overall I think they're pretty close. I think Rock oversold at times. Rock has had some great matches with some guys like Austin and Triple H. Like Cena and his STF, Rock did a terrible Sharpshooter, that thing was atrocious. I just think Cena has that bit more to him in the ring than Rock ever had and has a longer list of classic matches. It took along time for Cena to get comfortable inside that ring and he is not the smoothest performer but I'd have him ahead of The Rock.

Cena is very solid now, he's been around so long and learned so many things that you can't teach. I always felt like Rock was better than he got credit for in the ring, so saying Cena and Rock are about even is saying something favorable about Cena in my book. They have very different strengths and weaknesses, so it comes down to what you put more value in as a viewer I guess.

I agree with the general argument. He's got a lot of flaws, his selling, sloppily executed moves and over-reliance on gimmicks/high-spots. However in many ways that doesn't matter as he's had a ton of great matches and can draw fans in emotionaly.
The trouble is I could be saying that about Shane McMahon, except Shane was pretty good at selling a beating.
It's a tough thing to balance. If I judged purely on just a wrestlers top matches Cena would certainly be up there with the very best. (http://officialfan.proboards.com/thread/506844/top-matches-john-cena-results?page=3)
Yet at the same time if I judged a wrestler by how many times they did something stupid that took me out of a match* he'd be amongst the very worst of the big names.
*in many ways wrestling is all about maintaing the illusion and keeping you in the moment.

I would easily say yes and there's no "now" about it, he has been for years.
Maybe not on a technical level, he's decent not great there, but taking in mind his cardio and effort and body of work and the variety of styles and opponents he's been able to match up with, absolutely he is.

I have not watched for a few years, so he may have improved since I last saw him. Barring that, I would say no. He is perfectly serviceable, which is good enough for what he does. He can have good-to-great matches, which puts him above several other guys that have made it big. He can even have good matches with a wide variety of people, so he is flexible.
Having said that, there are many things that he does/did that makes me avoid him matches. His selling is subpar. His comebacks are sometimes less believable than Hogan's ridiculous and infamous "Hulk up". He's a face, so he is not required to be in charge of match pacing, but sometimes he seems to try to work too fast and does not milk every moment to their fullest capacity. Some of his working moves are too cartoonish.

He works a schedule comparable to 70s era wrestlers, has a look comparable to 80s era cartoon wrestlers, and wrestlers a variety of opponents to their strengths like the 90s era workhorses, and can work a crowd in an era when the crowd works the wrestlers. He's absolutely the best inside the ring at doing what he does.

If we define good worker solely as consistent, Sure.
In any other context, It's an emphatic no.
