It is interesting that unlike the current Walkers that are falling apart, these are all varying rates of falling apart. Like Susan looked normal while the other guy was pretty messed up

This show has improved greatly since a mediocre pilot, a good pacing, good characters, great atmosphere

That ended up being a pretty good episode. Glad to see this show stepping up after the boring first episode.

The barber guy is becoming my favorite I'll be so angry when he inevitably gets killed off in the season finale.

Having lived through the Los Angeles riots, and being in situations similar to that rioting on the show (esp the scene where Travis tried to drive off and knocked over the bikes), I'll tell you, that the episode tonight, triggered some real feelings of terror that I had as a child living through the real riots. That was f***ing impressive. THAT is damn good writing. I don't care what anyone says about it, I love this show!

Are they using the Wonder Years set? It looks similar. At least the interior.

The dog was the most upsetting part of the episode. Along with the woman yelling for her baby.
This show is so good. It carries so much tension and really never lets up.

I was also going to ask what the hell was going on with that airplane. But after reading online comments this morning, it's clear that it'll likely be brought up in that upcoming webisode about walkers on a plane.

Quality episode.
The ending with the army seemingly in control for now and the Barbershop guys "It's already too late" have hyped me up for the next episode. Honestly can't wait to see how humanity finally falls and what defeats the army. I'm guessing they get taken to some sort of camp and there's a few people inside who have been bitten and the inevitable happens. Also, anyone else expecting the episode to end with that plane ploughing into the ground in the distance, just as everything was seeming calm?
The characters are developing more now. The wife is far less annoying than she was initially, Nick seems like he'll be an OK character once he develops a bit and goes through his drug recovery arc and Travis is likeable but really naieve. But I guess that makes sense since in real life, not every character would be clued in like Barbershop Man. Barbershop Man is by far my favourite character though.
For me, the sign of a great series is scenes sticking in your mind afterwards and already this series has given us some. The shot of the girls being evacuated wearing creepy masks, the plane going overhead and slightly out of control (I assume infected are inside?), the whole of the riot scene, and Barbershop Man's "It's already over" have all been great.

I just can not stand that druggie kid. I wished he died in the first episode at the hands of the drug dealer.
Now tobias, thats a good character that knows whats up.

I just can not stand that druggie kid. I wished he died in the first episode at the hands of the drug dealer. Now tobias, thats a good character that knows whats up. I don't mind the junkie so much, but the daughter and Travis' son are really annoying. Haven't TV writers realised by now that the type of character everybody hates is the whining, annoying, self-obsessed, obnoxious teenager who never listens to anyone and this show has given us 3 of them. Although, the junkie is a bit like that, there's something about him that I like. I guess because he's actually showed a bit of intelligence... feigning having a fit to stop his sister leaving, remembering there's a gun in his neighbours house and, unlike Travis, realising straight away that the walkers are the dead bought back to life.
