The victory over Sting didn't annoy me as much as the commentray coming out from cole and JBL's mouths. I'm assuming they must both had Vince screaming down their headsets to say that shit.

My relationship with Triple H has always been that of a great friend who every now when he starts having too much fun he ends up hurting people. "We were all having fun, Triple H, why did you have to treat London and Kendrick like that?"
He's one of my all time favorites but there are very glaring instances in his career of "c'mon, man, you didn't have to do that, and surely you know better." The CM Punk thing has to be the most frustrated I've ever been with Triple H. What a disaster.

I stopped watching WWE in 2003 during the Reign of Terror and started to come back around mid 2004. It was that bad.

2004. I had JUST gotten back into watching wrestling with any kind of regularity right after I had heard Benoit had won the Rumble (and had happened upon the old version of this board...damned rabbit hole, this place), was all pumped when Benoit won, and then spent all of 2004 watching Trips dominate Raw anyway, watched him build up his feud with Eugene as more important than the SummerSlam title match (seriously, Benoit/Orton got 2 weeks of build), and I got sick of him really quickly.
When he did the whole swerve of dropping the belt late in the year to Edge and Benoit, only to win it back at New Years Revolution, that made me realize WWE simply wasn't for me, and made me walk away from it.

None of them. He's done a few questionable things in his career, but HHH is fantastic. Never hated him, never will.

2002. I, like everyone, was beyond hyped when he returned at MSG.
After that, all downhill, until the HBK feud.
After that, all downhill.

The year he beat Lesnar and they made it look like the two were equals. HHH is nowhere near Brock's level.

'03 easily. I fell out of love with wrestling around that time, didn't properly get back into it for about 3 years after seeing Eddie vs Rey at Wrestlemania 21 on Youtube.
Honestly, with what he's doing down in NXT now, I've kinda forgiven him for his past transgressions. But Ric Flair haired, Lemmy moustached "THAT! DAMN! GOOD!" , cutting 30 minute promos HHH?
Yeah, that one's still sore. Gonna take a while for it to heal.

2003 was his worst but I was only 11-12 at the time so I didn't really hate him as a person, I hated him as a heel. 2011 was when he pissed me off most because of the Punk burial.
I still love Triple H as a performer though.

In 2000 is when it really started to me. But at least he could still put on some good matches at that time. It's just his promos made me change the channel to WCW whenever he cut a promo that year. 2002-2003 made me dislike him even way more, but 2000 is the year I really started to dislike him so I voted 2000. It's sad that even in the last few years in semi-retirement he couldn't even put over Punk or Sting in his first WWE match. Also he should have never won against Brock at Mania.

There are two promos that stick out, and I'm not sure when exactly they were.
1. The "Terri Schiavo" promo 2. The Goddamn 40 Minute Long Promo.

I HATED that Owen Hart got gypped out of a program with HBK which somehow lead to a months long feud and he lost to HHH at pretty much every turn.
I wasn't really bothered by the 2003 R.O.T.
I didn't have Spike in 2004 May-Dec so I couldn't watch then.

I'm not a HHHater, I like him a lot actually, but I have to say 2003 was the year when I disliked him the most because his in-ring work was so subpar that year. The feuds with Steiner, Nash and Goldberg were all complete duds, boring promos and sluggish matches, and I'll not even get started on the Booker T feud. Luckily working with HBK brought him back to form. Same. I'll always remember it for the horrible matches he had and how out of shape he looked. I feel I should mention those awful shorts he started wearing too.

He's been my least favorite wrestler since 2001. He beat so many guys I liked to a point where it wasn't good heel heat, just "go away, you talk too much and you're boring." type heat.
2003 was so bad that I just started watching mostly SmackDown! I couldn't take the reign of terror anymore after he beat Steiner.

In defence, Trips beating Sting is the right choice. Triple H is the guy who is going to stick around regularly and, more than likely will have matches against the occasional main event/future top face like Reigns or Bryan. Makes sense for him to win that one and keep looking strong rather than give the win to Sting when he might not wrestle again. That's not how it works, though. You don't book the guy who may be around more to win the feud, you book it based on the fan preferred result and logical conclusion. By your logic, Taker should always be jobbing since he only shows up once a year now.
