I'm not a HHHater, I like him a lot actually, but I have to say 2003 was the year when I disliked him the most because his in-ring work was so subpar that year. The feuds with Steiner, Nash and Goldberg were all complete duds, boring promos and sluggish matches, and I'll not even get started on the Booker T feud. Luckily working with HBK brought him back to form. Same. I'll always remember it for the horrible matches he had and how out of shape he looked. I feel I should mention those awful shorts he started wearing too. The shorts were because he was recovering from either surgery or an injury at the time and he was trying to cover something up.

I just wished he'd have went back to the full length tights for a bit. They looked better.

Growing up, HHH was one of my favorite wrestlers. Even during 2000 and 2001, when it seemed like Jericho couldn't catch a break with him, I still liked him and wanted to see him succeed. Albeit there were always others in the main event and upper card I liked just as much and in some cases, more.
Then the quad tear happened.
From there, things get really murky. For the majority of his career after that, I wanted to like him still, I wanted him to have success. But it was clearly a case of an ego trip and not knowing one's limitations. Jericho, Orton, Booker, Benoit, Kane, RVD, Edge, hell, even arguably HBK were all victims of the Reign of Terror Era. The Hurricane thing, the dropping the title in screwy fashion and winning it back basically a month later, attacking London & Kendrick, the hot potatoing the belt with Orton in a way that ended in his favor, squashing Punk, trying to cut Brock's proverbial balls off for his own sake. It goes on and on.
There were some bright spots in there, but every time things were looking up, some insecurity or his ego would flare up and he'd have to remind everyone how damn good he was.

1997-1998. His DX frat boy character is the most annoying character in wrestling history (only Syxx is even in the ballpark). He reminds me of Wayne Arnold from the Wonder Years. Just an annoying f*** with almost no redeeming qualities. Made worse by the fact that that's probably very similar to how he was in real life at the time. And he never got his comeuppance...basically ever. He just evolved into a new character and actually started winning more. And now he owns the whole company. f*** that guy.

I was done with him after he cut Booker T off at the knees in 2003. Booker was so freaking over, and was top babyface material.

I've never hated him, but I definitely lost interest during his SD babyface run with the belt

It was such an anti-climactic burial, that people have actually forgotten just how insanely over that Booker was at the time. WWE can be so frustrating with their "Oh Crap, we didn't plan for someone to get as over as they are, quick, kill their heat so that we don't have to change our plans!" stuff.

Triple H in 2003 was insufferable.
I really really like Triple H but holy crap that run was just....it made it hard to be a fan.

2008 also gets a special mention since I was angry that after working the storyline with Jeff Hardy for months, it's actually Edge who takes the pin when Jeff wins the title.

Never really hated the guy. Infact I quite like him. He was probably the best heel of all time from 2000-2006 and I enjoyed the DX reunion at the time aswell... unlike some.
I guess the only time he ever really bugged me was around the Summer of 2009 when the never-ending love triangle of Cena/Orton/HHH was in full effect.
Also whenever he feels the need to go over someone like Punk or Lesnar when they're red hot. That bugs me too. And you can add Sting to that list aswell.

I was taking a break from wrestling after the Attitude Era and didn't really come back until around 2010, so I didn't really have any hatred towards Triple H until he stepped into the middle of the Punk angle in 2011 and beat him. I just didn't think there was a good reason to beat Punk at that time.

Two instances come to mind.
Firstly, him completely killing Booker T. If the plan was for Triple H to win they should never have brought up the race card into the mix. Also the way he beat him was just so demeaning, Booker hits Trips with every big move in his book including the often unseen Harlem Hangover and still can't beat him. But Trips hits a Pedigree, takes a breather, slowly rolls over, covers him with one hand, and still beats him. There isn't much thing more you can do to show that a guy isn't on your level than that.
Secondly, let's go to 2011 and his issue with Punk. I could forgive Trips beating Punk. In a bubble it's not the worst thing that could happen to Punk. What was the worst thing to happen was Punk becoming Trips lackey immediately afterwards. The hot anti-establishment face suddenly starts kissing his managers ass and heeding his every need. Imagine if Austin had been so compliment to Bret or Vince. There would have been no Attitude Era.

I've never liked HHH (on screen at least) and ruining the red hot Punk angle for what seemed to be just to massage his ego sucked.
Also special mention to current 'authority' HHH - so boring and predictable. Why can't he just stay off TV and be the guy who made NXT awesome?

I'll admit, I'm surprised there are people who voted for 98/99 HHH. Wasn't he pretty much an IWC darling pre-ME push?

lol actually this year I started to appreciate him, I think 2015 was the year of his podcast with Jericho where he seem like a cool dude, and also when he broke character after he make a kid cry and took him backstage. Also I like where he took NXT
