Can't wait for the DLC. I remember saying earier in the thread that I wished you could build your own robot.

I'm excited for the DLC, and I really hope it pulls me back into the game.
It's amazing how quickly I dropped all interest in the game once I completed the main quest... I've tried to get back into it but I can't play for more than 10 minutes before needing to do something else.

Avoided this thread while I completed the main story.
This game kinda sucks, doesn't it?

Avoided this thread while I completed the main story. This game kinda sucks, doesn't it? It's good. The world is great ,the enemies are fun, the characters are fun.I love building bases and collecting junk. But the perk system is awful compared to New Vegas. The worst perk system so far. And the RPG aspect is basically void when you don't have actions you can only perfom by having X stat. Good, but the weakest Fallout.

There is some good stuff in this game, but the amount of good stuff in it compared to the previous two is so, so, so low.
Weapon customisation and being able to build a house, to me, does not make up for there being so few big settlements and side quests to work off.
Vegas is still my favourite; Vegas was a society rebuilding itself, with a thriving economy build on debauchery and greed. That was a story I could get my teeth into, really, properly dig into.
I am about to replay 4 so I can try and find some more nooks and crannies though. You know, beyond 'This settlement is in trouble' or 'we lost our hard drive.'

My biggest complaint that has formed after hundreds of hours of gameplay...Nobody can do anything for themselves. EVERY single person you meet in the game is useless.
The freakin group from Quincy is going to die in the Museum of History...because they can't get past a novice lock.
I really have to stop what I'm doing and help defend a settlement with 25 people?
Cait needs to go to a vault to cure her addiction...really? I have 4 thing in my inventory that cure addiction. Nope, to the vault!
Every companion is still a suicidal tank. How can the AI have gotten worse? They knew it was garbage, hence immortal companions.
As much shit as Preston gets, I just want to say F you Drummer Boy! Can't even take my gotdamned coat off before you bother me.

Fallout 4 is a great game, but it's also a game that has a knack for wearing thin after a while. I think one of the issues that really undermines Fallout 4 is that the stakes are less than those of the other recent Fallout and TES games. {Spoiler}Morrowind - Fulfill an ancient prophecy and slay gods and goddesses to bring balance to the world.
Oblivion - Halt an apocalyptic invasion and save everyone from being destroyed.
Fallout 3 - Clean water for the entire Wasteland, and an end to the Enclave.
Fallout New Vegas - End an ongoing war to determine the political status of a country and the fate of its people.
Skyrim - Prevent the destruction of the world by slaying a fearsome dragon and absorbing the souls of his minions.
Fallout 4 - Find your son, vaguely determine the order of things, and build a bunch of settlements that exist as nothing more than quest destinations. One of the other things I dislike is the lack of any feeling of real progress in the game world. There's two nasty offenders: the lack of faction advancement, and the very rapid dungeon respawn rate. I go to a dungeon, clear it out, and in around a week, it's populated with the same types of enemies, all over again. In Morrowind, Fallout 3 (maybe NV too? I can't recall) and even Skyrim in some cases, there were dungeons that once cleared out, stayed cleared out for the rest of the game. In this respect, Fallout 4 is more like Oblivion, where there's really no point in entering most dungeons (unless you want to just explore or find the magazines and bobbleheads) because you can just keep going to the same couple of places to find whatever it is you're looking for. As for the factions... {Spoiler}I really would like to be in command of the BOS. Why can't I be? Why can't I, as the person who conquered the Commonwealth and obliterated thousands of raiders, super mutants, ferals, synths and monsters, make a bid for leadership of the BOS? There don't really need to be any sorts of changes to gameplay, but the idea that I have to answer to Maxson or anyone else for that matter is completely ludicrous.

Yeh i had a simular issue.I was used with Fallout NV and 3,when i would clear an Vault, boom, it is done,i feel accomplished, this place is clear and free.
On 4 if i clear a vault they just come back, kinda bugged me but not that much.

I liked things not being permanently taken care of at first, because it meant you coudl go back and try new weapons or level forever much more easily.
But Fallout as a series tends to get pretty tedious for a while, as enemies get really repetitive and there's really only two distinct ways to play the 3D fallout games, guns or melee. It doesn't offer you a way to talk your way out of problems

I enjoyed FO4, but it's dumbed down to f***. I was hoping for the perfect blend of 3 & NV. Instead I get Fallout 3 with a dash of generic FPS. Not a fan.

It doesn't offer you a way to talk your way out of problemsIn Fallout 3 you can beat the game by only killing that one radroach on your 10th bday for your dad, and in New Vegas if you side with the NCR or Yes Man you dont have to kill anyone to decide the future of the Mojave. So there are more then two distinct ways to play the 3d Fallout games.

After about 40 hours of gameplay I just stopped playing. I'm at a big moment in the game and I'm just not interested.
I'm somehow the leader of the institute yet both the railroad and brotherhood trust me to their ends.
I spend time dedicated to the main story and next thing I know the settlements I helped build are deteriorating from neglect. How useless are the people in this game?

Played Fallout 4 again for the first time since I completed the main quest, got pretty damn hooked exploring the Wasteland.

Glad to say Automatron has at least temporarily made me play and enjoy again.
It's nice to have something to do, because aimless wandering bores me.

The new survival system adds different diseases, and takes away fast travel
