WWE tried to spin Roman in a positive light by screwing him out of the belt, just like D Bry at Summerslam.
It's a desperate attempt to get Roman over like D Bry, except it just reeks of desperation at trying to make him the new Mega Face when it just simply wont work
Roman Reigns has been pushed from the very beginning, it's clear they're behind him and always have been. It doesn't have the Underdog Aura because Roman is a Buff Samoan Monster that speared the Boss even and only lost because Sheamus surprised him. It's nothing like Bryan but they're trying to spin it as a Hero who got screwed, and it's SO BAD. Down to the Woe is Roman walk of shame which was just pathetic to watch. Nothing about it is ORGANIC, like Bryan's was, the crowd got behind him because they wanted to, they don't get behind Roman because it's clear WWE wants you to and they're forcing it, and the more they force, the more the Fans reject.
The crowd isn't behind Roman guys. He gets cheered in some places but the crowd just isn't buying him and these desperate attempts only make Roman come off worse. He's not the character you're trying to make him. Trying to make him Cena 2 is basically a bullet to the brain at this point. The ratings are tanking, and it just shows that they're out of ideas in the worst way...
It didn't work at the Rumble, it didn't work at Mania, it didn't work in the Wyatt Feud... and this was just the cherry on top of the "IT'S NOT WORKING FOR ROMAN" Sundae. I don't even care that Sheamus is champion honestly, the fact WWE built him up exactly ZERO for this makes it even more hilarious to me.
You may try and make Roman look strong WWE, but in the end you've actually made a perfect diagram of how to ruin a mans Career in a One Year Span.

The funniest part is they refuse to turn Roman heel. Almost everyone who lasted got over as a heel, then turned and made it as the top face.
Savage, Michaels, Austin, Rock, Cena, Bryan, just to name a few.
So, stop fighting the current. You don't know better than the fans. You have the recipe, f***ing use it.

Nope, of all things they go the god damn "Screwed out of the title so cheer the Sympathetic Hero" road
It's Pathetic... they really just want Roman to get over that badly that they cant stand it that he isn't at all.

With this in mind, have a fun next 6 months.

But... but... the confetti, the pyro, hell even Triple H came out to congratulate the new champion. What went wrong??
Oh yea, Roman isn't really an underdog, pretty much everyone knew Roman is winning the title and let's now forget Bryan was red hot and Roman is lukewarm. He got mixed reaction, and was the default heel in this face-face match. How should we be extatic about him winning again?

It really doesn't help that Bryan was a victim of a cheap pedigree by HHH, while Roman looks like a goof who distracted himself via spearing HHH.
Between this and coming up short at WM (and at Payback) they haven't Daniel Bryan'd him as much as they have Luger'd him.

The crowd was Booing Roman well before that and they were still reacting poorly to him even after.
I don't see how this swayed any Fans that weren't already Roman fans to PLEASE CHEER ROMAN YOU GUYS IT'S SO SAD.
And I will have fun the next six months, thanks Maggle.

He doesn't need a heel turn though. Just give him a run with the belt and stop with the endless circle booking for him. You can only watch a guy overcome so much and get knocked back down before it becomes comical or you lose interest.

For me personally I don't mind them fighting it, I like Roman Reigns and the whole idea of turning someone heel to make him babyface is so weird to me, like I think most people here appreciate Roman Reigns as a worker, the stories they've cast him in since Wrestlemania have been rather inoffensive and his matches are great. I feel like there's enough redeeming value to Reigns to get behind but wrestling being the strange beast that it is we're at a standoff with Vince McMahon.

Check in places where you'd find casual fans. It definitely worked. Maybe not as much in the arena tonight though. Get ready for Roman's educated feet, kang.

And there's also the fact that they'd spent Bryan's near-entire WWE run presenting a narrative of "WE HATE HIM" to the point where people legitimately believe the company hates him. When people were cheering for him, most were doing so to "try and save his career". They can't even actively TRY to do that with Reigns because people just won't buy it.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
They tried to get him sympathy, complain that they try to Daniel Bryan him. Roman wins a hard fought battle, complain that they had to make him look strong.

I'm only stating what I saw and the parallels to it. And to me, it's almost an exact clone without any of the emotion and I'll stick to that.
