I've seen some queen memes shared on my Facebook, but never heard of this "Mom/Dad" thing til now.

I despise "shippers" in wrestling fandoms. I know that A)It's nothing new, and B)it's mostly harmless, but something about shipping real people just creeps me out. Like, the line between performer and person is very very thin in pro wrestling, so the whole thing just weirds me out.

Honestly it was the Tumblr fanbase that got me back into wrestling, some of it is dodgy (Renee haters) but for the most part they're just fans like us who might express their love for a wrestler differently. I'm a fan of drag so when I see Asuka kicking arse I will say "Yasss Asuka slay me bitch" does that make me less of a fan? No, it means Asuka is slaying me. Honestly I see people chalk certain fans as "weird shippers" or "shallow fangirls" and if it isn't hurting anyone, who cares? I used to read Stephanie/Jericho fanfic all the time when I was younger, it's harmless fun and it doesn't impact anyones lives whatsoever. I couldn't have said it any better myself. I'm on tumblr as a fan myself and, for the most part, that part of the fandom isn't that bad. I think that having teenage female fans is actually a good thing for wrestling (despite what I've seen others say). im a YAAAS QUEEN/YAAAAAAS DADDY fan and because of that I do kind of feel like people are more open to the idea of professional wrestling when you present yourself that way? Most people have this idea of what a wrestling fan is and when you kind of avert that idea then I guess they start to think, "Maybe this isn't for this X kind of audience after all." And while I do see a lot of criticism for teenage female fans ~lusting~ over guys like Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, I can't help but feel like there's no drawback to that? (Excluding the fans who actually hate Renee or Roman's wife like FOH with that.) For the most part, though, it's harmless, and especially on tumblr and Twitter where things are so easy to see, I think non-wrestling fans will see this kind of stuff and maybe decide they should give it a chance. This turned out way longer than it should have.

Some Twitter wars between different diva fanbases on Twitter make a knife fight on the streets seem tame.

I'm all for anything that changes the stereotype of a wrestling fan away from "ignorant, bigoted redneck who thinks it's 100% real."

I don't even know what yaas queen slay means. Is it because I'm old? Social media thing? I don't have twitter/facebook/the photo one, so I'm admittedly out of the loop.

This turned out way longer than it should have. Yes to all of this. The teenage girls on Tumblr are some of the most dedicated, funniest fans and I love that they've taken a fandom that is male-orientated and made it into their own, despite people's opinion on how they've done that. I always find the argument against the fans who lust after wrestlers ridiculous because a) WWE made a market out of fans lusting after the divas and b) they're still invested in the product, they still buy the t-shirts I just think sometimes wrestling is taken too seriously (which is ridiculous) and the tumblr/twitter fans can just make it fun again. It's fun for me to call Bray daddy with other fans, or take the piss out of wrestlers and I think as a wrestling fandom, which is already made fun of we shouldnt really be segregating people in our own fanbase because they take part in the fandom differently. I have a lot to say about this matter tbh.

I don't have anything to add on the yaaas train. Slightly on topic though, I saw a woman watching Total Divas while at the gym last week. I couldn't tell if she was concentrating so hard on the plot or the elliptical she was on but either way I was tickled.
