I couldn't have said it any better myself. I'm on tumblr as a fan myself and, for the most part, that part of the fandom isn't that bad. I think that having teenage female fans is actually a good thing for wrestling (despite what I've seen others say). im a YAAAS QUEEN/YAAAAAAS DADDY fan and because of that I do kind of feel like people are more open to the idea of professional wrestling when you present yourself that way? Most people have this idea of what a wrestling fan is and when you kind of avert that idea then I guess they start to think, "Maybe this isn't for this X kind of audience after all." And while I do see a lot of criticism for teenage female fans ~lusting~ over guys like Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, I can't help but feel like there's no drawback to that? (Excluding the fans who actually hate Renee or Roman's wife like FOH with that.) For the most part, though, it's harmless, and especially on tumblr and Twitter where things are so easy to see, I think non-wrestling fans will see this kind of stuff and maybe decide they should give it a chance. This turned out way longer than it should have. Yes to all of this. The teenage girls on Tumblr are some of the most dedicated, funniest fans and I love that they've taken a fandom that is male-orientated and made it into their own, despite people's opinion on how they've done that. I always find the argument against the fans who lust after wrestlers ridiculous because a) WWE made a market out of fans lusting after the divas and b) they're still invested in the product, they still buy the t-shirts I just think sometimes wrestling is taken too seriously (which is ridiculous) and the tumblr/twitter fans can just make it fun again. It's fun for me to call Bray daddy with other fans, or take the piss out of wrestlers and I think as a wrestling fandom, which is already made fun of we shouldnt really be segregating people in our own fanbase because they take part in the fandom differently. I have a lot to say about this matter tbh. This is also something that really separates two kinds of hardcore wrestling fans. It's just really fun being able to watch the program and just enjoy it for what it is. Typically older male wrestling fans will talk about who should be pushed and why some wrestlers aren't getting over... it's just kind of fun to be able to talk to fellow fans about how nice Dean's arms look this week. Really, as long as one is supporting the product then what's the difference in how they choose to be fans? I'm happy that at least on here I don't see too much negativity towards that side of the fandom but on other boards... yikes... Also, really OT but Kween Taeyeon looks gorgeous (as usual) in your dp.

'Daddy' or 'Queen' online doesn't really seem different from or weird compared to how we in the wrestling fandom have been acting for years...

Considering the age demo for WWE keeps on getting older and older you think WWE would do to embrace these fans more. In other words more Brie Mode less Kane and Big Show

I'm more so concerned about the mental health of people who wrap their entire existence and social media presence around defending and instantly responding to celebrities they watch on the tv. I know they're mostly (though not exclusively) younger girls so it kinda goes with the territory, but I still think it reeks of parents not paying enough attention to their kids and what they do online. They seriously beg like dogs to get noticed, and it gets creepy and alienating. I stopped following AJ because of it.

Honestly it was the Tumblr fanbase that got me back into wrestling, some of it is dodgy (Renee haters) but for the most part they're just fans like us who might express their love for a wrestler differently. I'm a fan of drag so when I see Asuka kicking arse I will say "Yasss Asuka slay me bitch" does that make me less of a fan? No, it means Asuka is slaying me. Honestly I see people chalk certain fans as "weird shippers" or "shallow fangirls" and if it isn't hurting anyone, who cares? I used to read Stephanie/Jericho fanfic all the time when I was younger, it's harmless fun and it doesn't impact anyones lives whatsoever. I couldn't have said it any better myself. I'm on tumblr as a fan myself and, for the most part, that part of the fandom isn't that bad. This turned out way longer than it should have. Wrestling fandom should be kind of silly imo. Wrestling itself is one of the silliest things on the planet. The kind of things people talk about on Tumblr now are extremely similar, if not the same things I heard back in study hall in the '90s. The only downside is how vitriolic and weird the internet can get. You used to just send hate mail or make a sign if you didn't like a wrestler. Now people stalk them on social media.

I absolutely cannot stand ratchet Diva fans. I think that they are legit insane. "Well, my fans can't stand you either. Triggered." Honestly, Sasha barely is ratchet compared to a lot of other divas. Seems most of the ones on TD have the more... rabid fans on social media. I used to be in an efed full of these people, they were buddies with the owner (you just know that'll end well). They even had their own ripoff of the show (cause efeds clearly need their own kayfabe breaking!). These people started on somebody because they role played as a diva they hated, like attacking through the efed's twitter thread.

What's the 'mom' and 'dad' deal? Fans have begun to call celebrities "mom" and "dad" depending on their gender on social media. Example: Triple H tweets: "Buy some NXT tickets bro lol" Fan: "dad"

I'm one of those that is a bit lost in this thread. Also why do people keep saying triggered at the end of their sentence? When someone is "triggered" is that they saw something that brings back awful ,torturing memories. Originally it had good meaning, like War Veterans that when see something related to the war they have flashbacks. But such is the internet, people used it to the point it means nothing ,if some people dont like something,or grosses then out, they will be "triggered" by it.So people make fun of it.
