You might as well hate Justin Gabriel too then. Madam, I have never hated the werewolves that I've encountered in my life and I shan't now.

You might as well hate Justin Gabriel too then. That would require remembering Justin Gabriel existed.

Let's all remember that Dr. Strange cape that Gabriel wore one time.
How silly that that was.

Unless I'm missing something major, what has Punk done that's THAT wrong that most major stars in this business full of big egos haven't done at some point? Not sign autographs for fans bothering him in an airport at 6AM? Being a dick back to people who are a dick to him on Twitter? Get salty with a few interviewers (which isn't cool, but again, he's far from the first or last wrestler to do so)?
Considering most people enjoyed him to some degree as a performer, most people stopped lambasting him for walking out once they heard the full story, there's not much evidence of him being a backstage politician, refusing to do jobs etc and he carried himself professionally 90% of the time when he was on WWE's dollar, I'm astonished how so many people still resent him so much. He's up there with proven racist, liar and politicker extraordinaire Hulk Hogan in the level of no-laughing-matter-I-actually-loathe-this-person negativity he gets. I don't get it. Granted, he's no sweetheart, but to my knowledge he's not murdered anyone either and there's a fair few stories of him being decent to people.

What's up with the anti-Punk circlejerk on here lately? I bet if a story was out that he saved a puppy from drowning, people would claim he did it cause he has a giant ego. And if he punted said puppy, people would say "the puppy probably had rabies!" Punk extremes go both ways. Hey, now. Punting a puppy is part of his MMA training. Gene Snitsky is his coach.

Punk and Bryan are my two most favorites. Not sure what one leaving has to do with the other.

Ironic you would say that considering that the Punk exit was a huge factor in having the Wrestlemania XXX Main Event changed...

If we're going with Gilmore Girls analogies here, which we are, then Punk is Jess and Bryan is part Kirk, part Dean.

Daniel Bryan retiring on Raw made you hate CM Punk? Weird.

I loved CM Punk as a performer, but my god is he unlikeable as a person. Just comes off as bitter and miserable. He seems to have a horrible attitude.

Punk was being overworked by an insane old man, and was nearly killed by an incompetent doctor who either doesn't know what MRSA is or would rather let someone wrestle with it than miss a show.
Daniel Bryan was told to stop wrestling before his brain was goat cheese.

Anyone who walks away from the WWF/E on their own terms will have a large portion of the fans turn on them sooner or later, look at the people who feel the Rock owed the fans more matches after his initial departure, the 'Bret screwed Bret' brigade, Austin is a whiny baby for not wanting to blow what may be his last money match on Raw, Lesnar is a quitter, Punk is a 'quieter' and so on and so forth. I would be amazed if this time next year, there are no voices calling Bryan a quitter that the WWE was right to try and bury.
As obnoxious as Punk may be, in no universe is he the bad guy in this situation, he didn't owe the WWE a thing at that point, he'd worked all his contracted dates and rushed back from surgery to help Vince out with no thanks for it, getting booked in matches that are dangerous enough for someone at 100%. The WWE have a long track record of treating their workers like greyhounds, they wanted Punk to keep on working when he was visibly sick with a staph infection, and he was, remember all the talk about how bad Punk looked before he quit, just so he could job to Hunter, again, as part of the Wrestlemania plans that would have seen Bryan against Sheamus and Orton against Batista, no matter what the fans wanted.
