Actually it's just the most disliked among movie trailers. It has half a million dislikes, while "Friday" has 2 million and "Baby" has 6 million.

And most of that is based around trolls going "hurr durr, womenz sure are lame, amirightguys?" as opposed to any real concerns about the movie.

I really think with this movie they're trying to have their cake and eat it. When it bombs, they can either cry sexism, which is what they seem to be doing, considering they're deleting actual criticism of the trailer and just leaving the sexists. Or, they can claim proof that nothing led by women will ever succeed.
Plus they get blind led positive hype from stupid trash like Jezebel, Buzzfeed and Salon because muh female empowerment, no matter how much this just looks like a genderflipped Adam Sandler movie, and tumblr feminists will watch it out of more blind loyalty to female empowerment, so it at least gets some money back.

Actually, most of it is concerns over the movie and most of those comments were intentionally deleted by Sony to make it look like it was just the misogynists.

I really don't think sexism is the primary reason for all the backlash. Decent chunk of it, sure, but is also a very off-kilter way of doing a sequel people've been wanting for decades to a widely beloved movie (well, to the sequel to a beloved movie, but whatever), and by a lot of accounts the trailer just plain doesn't look very good or very much like Ghostbusters. Even discounting sexism the thing'd probably be heavily scrutinized, though maybe not as much so, given what it is in on a pop culture level. I'm sure sexism plays a part in it to be sure, but I don't think that's the entirety of it by any stretch. Granted I can't judge, not only have I not seen the sequel, I've not seen the original Ghostbusters.

"Hurr durr I'm a man who only dislikes things because womenz" is exactly how this film is being viraly marketed. Criticism or apathy to this film is met with your kind of post there to the point where it's a flat out gimmick on their behalf. It's become Emperor's New Clothes. "Like this movie or be anti-woman".

Nope I hated the trailer because it looked shit.
I've got no beef with women in the title role as long as they're written and performed well, that GB looked like neither.

we're still having this argument? look, the real problem is it a trailer for a comedy and it just isn't funny. i laugh at 1 thing in a 2 minute preview, something is wrong here. maybe a new trailer will come out and be funny, i don't know, but till than the movie looks like it's going to miss the mark.

if by "most disliked" you mean 23rd most disliked behind a bunch of music videos.
Heck in basically the same area are Adele, Taylor Swift & Kanye vids.
Meanwhile the GB trailer got what 29million views and only a half million dislikes. So, 1.7% of people who saw it did not like it? Not exactly damning numbers really.
All that means is that it was a popular trailer that got shared alot.
That being said the movie does look generic as most any other movie out. Only slightly more boring looking than your average MCU trailer.

There will always be some guys who are just assholes with virulent anti-female attitudes. They existed long before this movie and will continue to do so anyway. The problem is that the filmmakers are basically saying "hey, remember that movie classic, much loved, comedy Ghostbusters? Well, we've done an inevitably inferior remake and guess what? Now they are all women! Isn't that cool?" And if anyone says "no", then people have been all too quick to say "oh it's because they are women, isn't it?" My response will be no, it just looks like shit, and an all female cast is a meaningless change that adds nothing to what looks like yet another terrible remake, just like Robocop, Total Recall and countless others.

It's sleazy to be sure, but you do see them all crawling from under the rock that's been turned over, right?

Without the original cast, this movie was going to get shit on no matter what. It just happened that since this movie has "groundbreaking role for women" that Sony can uses the "misogyny patriarchy card" on any criticism of the movie.

It's just a matter of saying that not all of the hate toward the movie has to do with hating women. Maybe they just don't like what they saw as a teaser for a film. It's okay to say negative things about a movie.

"Like this movie or be anti-woman". . Regardless, it's wound up exposing some very ugly and unsettling sentiments people hold. That still doesn't make the claim that anyone who criticizes it is sexist true and frankly, that claim is highly insulting to everyone involved. People really need to stop with these knee-jerk "the ONLY possible explanation why anyone would dislike it is because they're bigoted!" reactions. When you have a director actually claim that all criticism of his work is fuelled solely by sexism, there's something wrong and it reeks of insecurity. And frankly, if you needed this to learn that there do indeed exist misogynistic people, I think it says more about you than about the people who dislike this trailer. There will always be some guys who are just assholes with virulent anti-female attitudes. They existed long before this movie and will continue to do so anyway. No-one is denying that they exist, as evidenced by the posts in this thread, people are denying that EVERYONE who dislikes it is like that. And yeah, when you make blanket statements calling anyone who disagrees with you or doesn't blindly love something a bigot, they tend to take it poorly. I don't think it's a huge shock.
