With all due respect "more athletic Vader" is the worst description of Crews I will ever hear. LOL yeah I see the fault in that now. Can't be worse than "Bobby Lashley clone" though

Rocky Maivia was good in the ring but he got stale quick. ...what? Rocky Maivia was dogshit in the ring and then received perhaps the greatest character facelift in wrestling history.

Can't be worse than "Bobby Lashley clone" though Jacked dude who is good in the ring and soft spoken outside the ring to his detriment? Aside from the obvious reasons people use it, I'd still say it's a pretty apt comparison, Crews is just way more athletic.

And even at his peak I would never say Rock was particularly good in the ring. He was a passable wrestler carried by a mountain of charisma.

Its a copout

I don't like Apollo so far. Zero personality/charachter. Another problem is that his style makes him seem smaller than he is, when he is a big hoss in reality. He needs to cut the flippy stuff out. It makes the other big guys look bad and the small guys look bad.

In-ring, he does have some qualities.
But, he has no personality, so that means he has no upward momentum. I still think they took him out of NXT way too early.

You know who the perfect comparison is? Shelton Benjamin. Atheletic, jacked guy who is a black hole of charisma.

Eh, he was fully ready for TV from an in ring standpoint. They could have worked on his character on the main roster in house shows and the like.

I'll echo the "good in-ring but no reason to care" stuff.
I said awhile back if I'd give him an evil sports agent for a manager. Have him hold the GM up for money, chase kids away when they come for autographs, set up easier matches for Apollo and things like that. Apollo would be completely oblivious to it all, smiling and having fun while his friend/agent takes care of him.

Why the guy hasn't been given some sort of gimic yet is confusing. And has he not maybe thought of something himself? Can't see him in main events with this character or lack of one.

Somewhere along the lines it seems the rules were changed... Faces are supposed to smile a lot and that's it... The guy lacks intensity.... Go crazy like savage or warrior... Just let him snap ala shamrock or lesnar. We need patches Ohoolihan to punch him in the dick

I like his moves, but not the way his matches are structured, they feel kind of lifeless. He needs some ring time with guys who can help him there and not Sheamus. Sheamus is a fine hand, but most of his best matches are with ring general types.
Someone here had the idea of having Apollo join the Social Outcasts and have him be all cheery and happy being with these happy idjits, not realizing they were bad guys.

I remember back when there was an interaction with Big Show, and I actually genuinely hoped we would see Big Show as some kind of trainer/coach/mentor figure for Apollo. Out of all the people WWE has on-hand who aren't currently really attached to anything I think he'd do a great job at it, and interacting with a charismatic veteran can only help Apollo find himself on the mic. But right now, he comes off like this year's Neville; a decently notable indie name who came up to the main roster without much of a program and they don't really have anything in mind for him or ever let him have a character, he just shows up and flips.

Really, yeah, they'd be a great pair together. Have them as a tag team with plenty of mic time with Apollo doing the bulk of the work getting plenty of time to show his stuff, then when he's found a good niche and caught on, split them up amicably. As in not having Big Show turn on him because nobody cares about Big Show feuds anymore.

He was helped greatly by places like pwg & dragon gate cause he didn't need a personality and just did amazing cool moves now he's in wwe with no personality and they've taken alway 98% of the cool stuff that got him over everywhere else. He's got a ton of potential he ain't going anywhere till he gets a character or personality.
