6'1" seems pretty generous for Apollo. Probably more around 5'10" or 5'11" if I had to guess. 6'0" seems about right for Rusev though. I don't get why people think of Apollo as a "big" man. Yeah he's jacked and is clearly a really strong guy, but by pro wrestling standards he's really only about average size wise. If he was wrestling 20 or 30 years ago he would be considered small. I think it's because he was in Dragon Gate etc, where most of the dudes are small highflyers. I like the motivational speaker idea though.

His theme song is legitimately one of the most uplifting things since a Sage Northcutt interview. Honestly, listen to it running for the metro/bus/tram and feel your worries wash away.

Crews strikes me as a guy who is fun and confident away from a camera but has difficulty in conveying his natural character on camera.

To me he's like a more athletic early Bobby Lashley. Fairly gifted, black bald Vince McMahon Big Guy, but he really needs to get a personality already. And no, being unreasonably cheerful does not count.

Crews reminds me an AWFUL lot of early Paul Burchill. Similar size and ring style of "medium size dude who is super strong and agile", similar character issues. Burchill had the problem that every time he found his hook it got taken away from him, but Crews is having the problem that they're not GIVING him a hook. He's so bloody vanilla.
Since they're never gonna do anything with Cesaro in the main event, I'd be tempted to put him, Crews, and Neville together as a trio. Just 3 ridiculously athletic dudes who are super strong and agile and wreck people in creative ways every week. Have them absolutely murk people every week, maybe even have their thing be that they don't have a finisher- they come up with a new winning move each time because they're so ridiculously gifted. Keep a move counter, a sort of continuous version of Malenko or Jericho's shtick. Cesaro as the serious, smooth leader. Crews as the happy enthusiastic hot tag. Neville as the cocky one. Just let them get over on being absurdly fun-to-watch dudes who wreck bodies.

I like this, but I'd make the non finisher a little more focused, their finisher is always an elaborate counter to their opponent's finisher.

^Why hasn't Burchill ever kayfabe reconnected to his old tag buddy Regal and resurrect the pirate gimmick as a JTTS for NXT? He's got the perfect amount of indy experience by now!
Crews being a part of the Fatal Fourway for the US title shot on SD gave him great indirect shine since Crews's offense became a factor in Cesaro/Rusev immediately next

Suffering from "we are not gonna bring nxt guys up without a plan" syndrome. Guy can sure as hell go and they thank Christ gave him a new finish, but he's just there without a reason for anyone to care why he is there
