Size in Wrestling is mostly all about attitude. I buy Rusev as a Hoss even though he isn't huge. Why? Cos he acts huge. If Apollo acts like a cruiserweight he will come across like a cruiserweight. Take Apollo's flips away, then he just looks like he brings nothing to the table except size and he'd be subjected to more "LOL Vince is gay for big muscles" jokes. If all he brings to the table is flips maybe he doesn't bring enough.

Crewes has all the in ring tools in the world. He seems to have a charisma about him. He needs a character and a reason to care about him. I honestly think tagging him with somebody and having a tag team would do wonders for him. Apollo & Neville? Why not Apollo and Cena?

He uses both raw strength and high-flying and it should stay that way.

Rusev is also as wide as a house. But Apollo is bigger than Rusev in terms of height, which is the opposite of what you said. The previous poster claimed that Rusev was bigger than Crews "because he actually carried himself like a heavyweight and Apollo doesn't". , and my rebuttal was that he had more mass. I'm surprised at Apollo's height though (I could've sworn he was also 6' even or even 5'11). The height and weight thing was actually the start of a whole other sentence. I was trying to say Apollo was less of a "hoss" in terms of size and more closer to people like Cena, etc who are respectably sized but aren't sold to the audience as "big men".

6'1" seems pretty generous for Apollo. Probably more around 5'10" or 5'11" if I had to guess. 6'0" seems about right for Rusev though.
I don't get why people think of Apollo as a "big" man. Yeah he's jacked and is clearly a really strong guy, but by pro wrestling standards he's really only about average size wise. If he was wrestling 20 or 30 years ago he would be considered small.

Dude should still be in NXT. For a while, and I like the guy.

I'll echo the "good in-ring but no reason to care" stuff. I said awhile back if I'd give him an evil sports agent for a manager. Have him hold the GM up for money, chase kids away when they come for autographs, set up easier matches for Apollo and things like that. Apollo would be completely oblivious to it all, smiling and having fun while his friend/agent takes care of him. I just also want to say that this is money.

Apollo is a very happy, positive dude in real life. He has a lot of upside but needs a hook. And not the usual black wrestler tropes that WWE and fans love to use. Hell, make him a motivational speaker like Positively Page.

f*** what y'all talking about, Crews is my dude and WWE needs to strap him up ASAP. But Finn is "a lame", or whatever, even though they both have the same inherent problems, from a character standpoint?

Also, Finn's been around significantly longer than Crews

There's lots of talented guys on the roster. Crews does nothing that stands out above the rest.
He needs a gimmick, a proper storyline, maybe a manager, and a direction. Hoping the brand split helps him find more of a personality because he's too talented of a guy to get lost in the shuffle.

Crews is like Vader with a completely different look, personality, and ring style. "And they spell and pronounce their names differently"

Hell, make him a motivational speaker like Positively Page. WWE is still backwards with their portrayal of black wrestlers. Babyfaces are still happy-go-lucky, dancing folk and heels are guys angry at the world at all the injustices, both real and (usually) imaginative. I mean, you can do a happy babyface with Apollo, but when I said he should have stayed in NXT, I meant he needed time to build up a character so you have more than just a big guy who can do acrobatic moves in addition to raw power. Even in today's WWE where the roster is filled with more athletic individuals and the remnants of Johnny Ace's lumbering meatheads initiative is limited to Titus O'Neil and Roman Reigns (as far as guys that are big but aren't capable), having that hook is important, and it's what seperates a guy like Seth Rollins from your Nevilles. I worry that Apollo Crews is going to become the black Neville.

If nothing else, this thread and WWE forums lately in another thread or two has inspired me to consider how much potential a comparisons thread that tries to equal the inaccuracy of this one would have. "You know, the Doberman Pinscher is really just the emerald of the Atlantic." "I love how the Battle of Yorktown basically stole the ending to the final episode of WKRP in Cincinnati." "I got one of those pieces of furniture from IKEA that sounds exactly like grilled cheese with marshmallow topping when you sit on it." If you ask me, Muhammad Ali in his prime was much better than anti-lock brakes.

Whatever they do, they shouldn't have him feud with Dolph Ziggler or Kane, or for the love of gawd John Cena. Avoiding those 3 strikes I think Crews will be aight on the main roster post-brand-split.

Perfectly good gimmick right here. I burst out laughing at this. His smile should be a lethal weapon. Or is that already Asuka's gimmick?
