Sunderland have confirmed the signings of Paddy McNair, Donald Love, and Adnan Januzaj. Permanent deals for McNair and Love, a season-long loan for Januzaj. I don't know if signing a cannibalistic billionaire with mob ties is a good move.

I'm a little biased being a Newcastle fan, but do you really think it's wise buying unwanted Manchester United defenders? Remember the last time they did that:

Ah yes, Januzaj.
Scored a couple of goals and Sky Sports were praising him as the new messiah.
Then seemingly disappeared without trace.

Ah yes, Januzaj. Scored a couple of goals and Sky Sports were praising him as the new messiah. Then seemingly disappeared without trace. He's got good potential, but like Ravel Morrison his attitude and ego is appalling for a player who has accomplished nothing. - Couldn't get into LVG's team ahead of Ashley Young, Angel Di Maria, and Anthony Martial. - Against LVG's advice thought he could go to Dortmund and command a first team place ahead of Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, and Reus. - Could barely make the bench at Dortmund, so comes back in January, doesn't even make the bench at United. - Acts like pre-season is a holiday camp, which understandably doesn't impress Mourinho, who's notorious for expecting his players to work hard. - Throws a tantrum when Martial is given the #11 shirt. - Mourinho tells him he needs to improve his attitude and demotes him to the under-23s. - Refuses to change with them and arrives for training and matches already in his kit. Moyes got some good performances out of him at United, so maybe he can do the same at Sunderland. The Sunderland team is really lacking in quality, so he's virtually guaranteed a starting role when fit, so as a United fan I hope he has a good season so we can sell him on at a decent price next summer.

I see Messi has reversed his decision to retire from International football.

1. Manchester City 2. Liverpool 3. Tottenham 4. Chelsea 5. Manchester United 6. West Ham 7. Arsenal 8. Leicester 9. Southampton 10. Crystal Palace 11. Everton 12. Stoke 13. Swansea 14. Middlesborough 15. Watford 16. West Bromwich Albion 17. Bournemouth 18. Burnley 19. Sunderland 20. Hull That's my prediction for the premier league season. Going to add some things that I think will happen later. Okay, here we go. - Zlatan to score 10-15 goals. - Palace signs three players before the transfer window closes, one of them flops horribly. - Connor Wickham stays healthy, scores over 10 goals. - Two managers get fired before christmas. - Agüero wins the golden boot, doesn't get chosen for team of the season - Somehow Sterling finds excellent form under Guardiola's guidance, gets 10 goals and 10 assists. - John Terry starts the season horribly and doesn't play a single game after november. - Some team spends over 50 millions on one player during the last day of the summer transfer window. He turns out to be not worth the money.

Vardy has had that cast on longer than Bob Orton did.

Eleven scored 2 goals in the 2nd half & beat Rayo OKC 2-1, keeping us at the top of both the Fall & Combined standings.

Ross Barkley already looks so much better than he did most of last season.

Hull beat Leicester. How about that. I was happy to see that considering the king of political front-office nonsense that club has been dealing with.

This AFCB/United match hasn't been boring per se, because both teams have been lively at times and it's been a back-and-forth game, but outside of a Rooney half-chance, there really hasn't been a single moment of danger for either team.
