Whatever people may think of TNA and their 15 years of potshots at the WWF, they have never done anything that comes close to being as desperate and petty as the Billionaire Ted skits.

After 51 pages, this should just be "Post a Wrestling Opinion You Have".
Ricky Steamboat made for a very good babyface.

Ricky Steamboat could have been a heel.
Watch him shove the ref and beat hell out of Luger with a chair. Look at the facial expressions and see how the squeeky clean family man completely lost his shit and attacked a man with a weapon.
Now imagine he did it to Sting instead of the arrogant heel Luger.

think you posted the wrong video first. They almost literally did the Billoinaire Ted skits with "Cookiegate" having a HHH and Vince Impersonator walking around backstage. not to mention they once called anyone who watches WWE idiots (while trying to actively court them since it was on a special Monday show when Raw was pre-empted for some reason) Yeah, they have.

No, Steamboat would have been an awful heel. In those instances you mentioned, all he was was a babyface getting retribution for the bad things the heels did to them. He didn't have the arrogance or underhanded nature needed to sustain a fully-fledged villain persona. He was fine the way he was.

The guy who had previously been portrayed as the smiling white meat "here's my wife and baby" babyface who never throws a closed fist let alone uses a weapon suddenly throws down a referee and repeatedly waffles a guy with a chair. Why? Because the guy got himself disqualified. This isn't a situation like the Savage feud where he had been attacked and injured. It was a US title match that he was in because he was the former world champion who was bumped out of a rematch in favor of a guy who had been doing commentary. He didn't need arrogance or underhandedness. He had anger. A few well placed attacks with the chair and the double arm chicken wing, a video of his wife with their baby in her arms pleading for him to stop, Ricky responding that he couldn't stop because not only did he have to do what was right for himself, he had to show his son to stand up for himself... Boom. The only problem with the scenario is timing. Flair was tied up with Funk, Sting was with Muta. That basically leaves Luger in a battle of the odd men out, and obviously the face/heel dynamic there needed to be exactly as it was. But I have no doubt he could have been a heel.

Steamboat would have been fine as a heel. In those days all he would need is sunglasses, a leather jacket, a manger whose shoulders he could rub as the guy mouthpieced for him and an annoying evil laugh.

"But you didn't even get in position to count!" "True, but he had him pinned for a 3 count, take my word for it."

Nah, I forget who it was (Maybe Patterson?), but he was right when he said that if Steamboat had come out and hacked Hogan's leg off with a chainsaw, the fans would have said Hogan had it coming.

I've heard that story. All due respect to Pat, I completely disagree. Always have, always will. Hell, watching the attack on Luger as a kid, I wondered then if he was becoming a bad guy, and that was with him attacking a bad guy. It wouldn't have been a problem, especially with a good opponent.

The Billionaire Ted skits went on for months and weren't just a hatchet job on him, but on two guys whose hard work built the WWF in Savage and Hogan, oh, and Gene Okerlund too, I suppose. And let's not forget the WWF trying to run anti Ted Turner print ads and planning to have the Huckster and Nacho Man 'wrestle' at WrestleMania. Petty, petty, petty bull****, people only think TNA's idiocy comes close to that level because it's more recent. Plus, it's TNA, so, anything they do is the most horrible thing ever, and anyone who wrestles there is instantly worthless because "TNA." TNA may have taken shots, but they were lame ones. The Billionaire Ted skits, while starting out as lame mockery on the TNA level, really got low and personal as they went on. It was Vince McMahon freaking out because a fellow rich person was playing his game, but for a time, playing it better. As much as he LOVES competition, he only likes it if it's guaranteed he's going to win that competition.

I find Ring of Honor kinda boring most of the time and would rather watch TNA.
Also, I'm sick of Bullet Club.

I mean we can always bring up one of the recent examples of petty bullshit on TNA end with them trying to stop AJ Styles from debuting at the Rumble.
