To add a serious statement
I guess it depends on when he means I guess... since pretty much the entirety of the Rock's run was the 90's... and yeah he was at least as over as Blue chipper and maybe when he first turned?
If he means like when he was what most people refer to when they say "THE ROCK" hell no.

Eh, Muraco was actually kinda over because he had the Superstar with him. Yeah, probably better than Ole. I am guessing you haver never seen footage of Don Muraco or Ole Anderson in there prime I'm talking about when they received the nickname "The Rock", late-1986/early-1987, not their entire career. You can make an honest to goodness case when Buff was at his peak, he was bigger than Ole Anderson circa 1987.

Buff is neck-and-neck with Jeff Jarrett in the "greatest disparity between the size of one's ego and the level of one's actual accomplishments" award.

Imagine a reverse history with Bagwell in the Furious movies? Or as the Tooth Fairy?

If you ever met the guy, you'd know how true that is. I mean, he's not an asshole, he's actually a nice guy, but he's CONVINCED he's one of the biggest stars in pro wrestling history.

Buff was definitely over in the late 90's. Equal to The Rock? Doubtful. But to suggest that he wasn't over is asinine.

Jarrett definitely has no reason to have an ego. At least in Buff's case he wouldn't be wrong. He was very over for his time and if not for injuries, bad attitude, etc there's no telling where he would've been.

He could have been over if they had capitalized on a face turn after his neck injury in 1998, instead of doing swerves every other week on Nitro.

What was Bagwell's greatest match? I couldn't tell you and I watched that entire era of the Monday night wars. He held the WCW world tag titles a few times. That was it. He was over. That Buff Daddy theme got him a decent pop. Then again The Godfather was over with the ho train theme and gimmick too. And he had a WWF tag title and an IC title run. Both as memorable as any of Bagwell's runs. I'd put them on the same level. He's not on the same level as The Rock. Not even close.

It must be nice living is fantasy land. Maybe I should visit sometimes. Bagwell was never close to the Rock level. Rock was the better wrestler, Say what you want but at less most of us here can name a classic Rock match. How many memorable Bagwell matches do people talk about? Promos Rock is in a class very view in wrestling could ever get. He was and is one of the best ever in talking and most off all, From the moment he walks out to the final bell. The Rock ALWAYS had the fans in the plum of his hands. Bagwell never had that kind of control with the crowd. That something that made him stand out, must like Hogan, Austin, Savage, and the very best in history had the ability to do. When you think about the best ever in the history of wrestling. The Rock is in that classic of the best performers. The BIGGEST example that stands out to me was back in 2003 months after his last month and when he made the random appearances mostly unannounced, the one time they told the world he was going to be there like days before that Raw. Next then you saw the show sold out. That something Bagwell can't ever say and very few wrestlers have that kind of impact in the drawing power. That that level that only he, Austin, Hogan, and ext can do.

Let's all forget that Buff was main event hot but due to politics he never main evented. Oh yes he did, he main evented in WWE! Of course in some botched by imagination match that actually could go toe to toe with 80% of the matches on TLC PPV last Sunday.
