As long as there is never a scene where Rey's midichlorian count is tested, I'll be happy.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with pretty much everything about the original poSt and thread title.

Because it takes the Force from this really cool, mystical thing that binds the whole universe together and chooses people as an active vessel for it to "Nope, arbitrary bugs in your blood stream. If you got enough of them, you're a Jedi!".

Sometimes, logic has to make sense, but it should be more that these things suggest Force sensitivity, not actually allow access to it. It should be the exception; not the rule.

I hated this movie. But I realized that Star Wars has just passed me by. I'll always have the original 3 and you all can enjoy your movies.

I feel like the complaints about it echoing A New Hope's structure are going to get answered in the rest of the trilogy. I think the overall point of this trilogy is going to be the final rejection of the dark side/light side dichotomy. The plot points coming up over and over in the star wars universe are deliberate. There's always an evil empire (the sith, the empire itself, the first order). And there's always a young hero from a desert planet (Anakin, Luke, Rey) who has to come stop them. There are probably others.
I feel like "the last jedi" is about the end of the cycle. The end of the back and forth rise of the light side and dark side over and over again, tearing things apart every time they do it. There are a lot of hints about it in the trailer and it's been a subject of speculation from the fandom for a little while now. I think echoing the earlier movies was a deliberate choice.

Meh, to each his own I guess. Oh wait, this is the Internet, hang on. YOU'RE WORSE THAN HITLER!!!!!!!!! No, silly. That's anybody who likes the prequels. I like the prequels, episode 2 aside but 3 was great and 1 gets undeserved hate. I'll reply to some of the replies here when I get home

Considering I've only watch TFA 2 since it's release and I've watched Rogue One 7 times now says something to me TFA was okay but didn't have much replay value to me. While Rogue One is second only to Empire Strikes Back in my heart.

1 gets the right amount of hate. Wasn't as bad as 2, but still very, very bad.
3 was ok with some great scenes, but man some bad ones as well

Yes, it's a staple of the old serials... but that's because it was cheap to put a camera in a room with a table and a bunch of people arguing around it. Not because it was interesting.

I'm not someone who hates movies. I'm willing to overlook flaws if I can see what it was trying to do even if it is a letdown. The movies I genuinely hated could be put on two hands compared to the stuff I've seen.
...I f***ing hated Episode 1. It's goddamn horrid.

Yeah, we are still searching for the one to bring Balance to the force and I am pretty sure that is what Luke is doing by destroying the code of the Jedi.
