EXCEPT
northern ireland still doesn't have an actual assembly!
relying completely on the westminster MPs won't be enough for even that

Very much shades of the 2015 Canadian election. The Tory PM with a majority government calls an early election and it badly backfires. Long campaign? Yes (78 days lol). Early election? No, we have a fixed election date act to regulate things and the election lined up with when it needed to be called. If you want a Canadian example, this would be closer to the Alberta Election of 2015, the PC government called an election early (thinking they would wipe the floor with everyone) and ended up getting demolished in the results with the NDP gaining a strong majority. In this case, the Conservatives would retain power (unless there's a coalition), but they would pay for calling an election early. You're right that Alberta is an even better example, but it was an early election. Harper could have waited until October 19.

but if the tories continue to push for a hard brexit, that will make any deal with the DUP EXTREMELY UNLIKELY
then they'll go to LABOUR and that will be the end of the conservatives government!

IF May resigns, who would be PM? I know Boris Johnson was the favorite to be selected PM when Cameron resigned, but he didn't want the job.

IF May resigns, who would be PM? I know Boris Johnson was the favorite to be selected PM when Cameron resigned, but he didn't want the job. Phillip Hammond, Sajid Javid and Michael Gove are the only others who could conceivably be in with a shout. Amber Rudd could've been a potential one, but considering it took three recounts for her to retain her seat she's not in a strong position.

News reports coming in are saying that I am going to be the new leader of the Conservative Party.
I may not be a conservative in any way whatsoever, and I may not live anywhere near the UK, but I'm pretty strong and stable, boys.

Unbelievable.
I'm a pig in mud as a Liberal, but how do you screw up a 20+ Percent Starting Advantage?
With this, and economic uncertainty starting to bubble, Prime Minister May is probably beans on toast.

Well damn. The Tories are doing a great job of keeping politics interesting recently. Arrogantly calling the referendum, only to lose, and now this.

I don't understand British politics at all, but this is a....good thing? It's definitely a thing. We're about to go into Brexit negotiations with our government in chaos.

I don't understand British politics at all, but this is a....good thing? www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-40209087It's a long way from ideal, but a lot of people will be feeling a hung parliament is a damn sight better than a Conservative majority.
