Despite what the SNP say I defo think it's independence referendum backlash The guy I used to work with who I didn't want elected won by 75 votes....Argh! Maybe since it's a hung parliament if there is another election he'll lose then Still no Conservative majority and SNP lose a shedload of seats so as I said before reasonably happy. Especially since Salmond was one of their losses

As the results are almost all in and those that aren't declared don't carry any huge significance, we'll be locking this thread up soon. If we get a new Prime Minister in the next few weeks there is a chance that this thread will be re-opened to allow a bit of discussion but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

UKIP is ready to go after Mays head for "putting Brexit in Jeopardy" if The Exit Poll is accurate. At this point, I think that part of Brexit is done as an issue. We're doing it, most people have accepted that whether we like it or not. Lib Dems campaigned on that, it did nothing, UKIP failed yet again and did worse, so hopefully we can stop pretending they're relevant. How we negotiate... that will be interesting, May's team seemed to be blundering in like a bull in a China shop, see if we can get some people who can deal with nuance and negotiation a bit better.

I'll be very interested to see the polling data on the youth turnout, I'm hoping they've turned out in the numbers they should.

I think the recent video posted on social media of a Conservative truck promoting their slogans this election cycle turning over on its side is the perfect metaphor for how the election went for them.

As an outsider, it seems kind of pointless to argue over something that's done and dusted like Brexit. It happened, the people voted for it, Article 50 has been initiated, the end. Time to sit at the negotiating table.
Also, the one party that ran a on overturning a referendum voted on by the people is called the "Liberal Democrats."

Wasn't May's bus one of the same ones used by the remain campaign?

Not sure if they're accurate, though. Reports are saying 72% of 18-25 year olds turned out to vote. Stunning figures.

BBC reporting that May will not resign and will work to form a government, possibly a coalition with the DUP.
