Coutinho can't even play in the CL for Barcelona this season so I'm not sure what the point of signing him now is, considering Barca have pretty much already won the league.
Great result for Forest.
Leeds, lol.

Leeds, lol. Could be that Barça want Coutinho to learn how to play with new teammates in a new tactic, while giving Iniesta some more rest to have Iniesta fresh for UCL matches.

As bad as West Ham were, I found the Shrewsbury match entertaining. Town worked really hard and we're just a quality chance away from winning.
And it was a bloodbath, what with the lad getting his tooth knocked out and Sadler going full Butcher.

arselol strikes again! 2-1 defeat to bournemouth so if sanchez leaves, especially to another premier league team, is that it for wenger? or will arsenlazarus rise again??? perhaps a swap deal with real madrid?

so if sanchez leaves, especially to another premier league team, is that it for wenger? Well, it's not "if", we know that much. Sanchez is leaving either this month or at the end of the season. The only question is destination, and it seems pretty certain it'll be to one of the Manchester teams. Arsenal reportedly want £35 million for him, which City are seemingly unwilling to pay, given he wouldn't be an automatic first choice, while United clearly are willing to pay if it'll help them close the gap in squad quality with City. Either way, I'm not expecting Wenger to leave Arsenal. He's become the JTG/Funaki of the Premier League.

Bizarrely scenes in the match between Nantes and PSG. During a fast break Nantes defender Diego Carlos accidentally collided with the Ref as they were both runnning. The Ref went flying, then kicked out at Carlos and then sent him off. Something tells me this Ref will be taking a long break.

The answer is Alexis Sanchez.
The question is, will there ever be a player with whom Manchester City exercises some kind of financial restraint?
It’s really strange that a team who has spent oodles on players over the past several years with a virtually unlimited chequebook all of a sudden thinks £35M for a 29-year-old super talented player is too much.
Oh, well. I welcome his arrival at Old Trafford.

I think it's the Tino Asprilla effect. There's been plenty of players over he years brought into successful teams only to upset the balance of the team. Does Sanchez really offer them anything they don't already have in abundance? Individually he's a better player than Sterling and Bernardo Silva, and is pacier and a better goal scorer than David Silva, but the team is a well-oiled machine at this point and things would have to change to accommodate him.

Better for them to wait until the summer, grab him on a free and use preseason to bed him into the team. Whether he will wait until the summer or take the bigger money United and Chelsea are supposedly willing to offer is another thing.

He’s free to play in Champions League. I was always under the impression that Europe is Europe and you’re Cup-tied regardless of competition, but it seems that when UEFA switched to Europa, the rules changed. Here’s the language about rosters being submitted for the CL knockout round on Feb. 1: "Players may have played in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League, but only one of them can have played in the UEFA Europa League group stage. Players cannot represent two clubs in the UEFA Champions League from the group stage onwards."

I thought when it got to the knockout phases and Champions League third placers enter the Europa, then that’s it. Regardless, I still think when clubs are under increased scrutiny by the Financial Fair Play people, it’s madness to incur possibly more debt by spending money on something you could have for for nothing months later.

I'm not so sure about that. Sane is very on and off kind of player, and they need someone that they can play there when he's not at his best. Also Agüero has a record of getting injured, while Jesus is already out for a while. They're one bad tackle away from having no striker for next month and having just one for the rest of the season.
