No link to news on this yet, but NJPW's English language Facebook account has uploaded a message/graphic saying they're returning to SoCal in late March.
This time they're running the Walter Pyramid, which could potentially seat 5,000-6,000 people.
Given that's not even four months after Wrestle Kingdom and only shortly before Sakura Genesis, I wonder what types of matches/feuds they'd be looking to run? Some are speculating it might be a launch show for the US-based arm of NJPW that's about to get started, but if they want to sell 5,000+ tickets I'm sure they're going to be bringing in at least some of their heavy artillery.
Either way, bummed I probably won't be able to fly out at that time of the year, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that a NYC-area show gets announced for 2018, too. Anyone going to try and make it?

I’m definitely glad they booked a bigger venue. With the right card and advertising I wouldn’t be surprised if they sold out.

Think they were pleasantly surprised with how the G1 special went over. This will probably be headlined by Omega/Ibushi

Go big or go home. Omega vs. Naito, title for title. The only other thing that would even remotely make sense is something like Omega/Ibushi in the finals of the New Japan Cup, since the time line fits.

I may have to fly down to Long Beach for this one. I wonder when tix go on sale because people have gotta be chomping at the bit for this one.
I was thinking Omega/Ibushi would be a good main event as well, but it'd be really nice if they could get some big American stars to turn out - if Pac gets out of his WWE contact by the end of the year he'd be clear of his no-compete for this show.

Things I don't understand: 1. Why is this on a Sunday? 2. Why aren't they running two shows?

Sounds like there's going to be title matches held at it. No word yet which ones.
I also wonder if it'll air on NewJapanWorld or on AXS

In the event Jericho doesn't go back to WWE for the usual crawl to Mania, or if things strain enough they don't want him back this year, I could see them trying to use Omega/Jericho 2 to make sure this place sells out and gets attention.

Walter Pyramid in Long Beach? Wait, is that the CSULB pyramid?
I went to that school. Damn, had I made the connection, I would have gotten tickets. I still live not that far from campus. I can't imaging going there for Wrestling.

NJPW is doing this the right way, taking their time and not rushing into a US market

Despite not being able to get tickets, I'm really happy for their success. Should be a hell of a show with great atmosphere.

I think, though I may be wrong about this, that they'd air on Axs live, then get the NJPW World version up shortly after the broadcast.

Really hoping there's Callis and Kelly commentary here, because listening to JR last year was just embarrassing, and his response to all of it just made the whole scene even worse.
