It's not about face/heels/tweeners, that's western wrestling logic. It's going to inhibit your enjoyment if you try to put it into that box. It's about the triumph of the individual and identifying with a faction. Right Yes you have guys like Suzuki who you recognize as crazy as f*** and Suzuki-Gun itself is a classic heel faction but Minoru himself has the respect of the fans Don't come into the match thinking of it as heel or face because the pace and drama of the match will determine how the characters interact in the ring like when Tanahashi got desperate against Okada and started doing underhanded shit to win What I love about Suzuki-Gun is that there's the running theme that all of them are miserable bastards who love torturing people and embarassing them. Everyone of them, with the possible exception of Kanemura (who's gimmick I'm still trying to figure out besides "likes whiskey") are obsessed with making people miserable, or are just flat out insane. That's why I like ZSJ as part of this group, he has aims to be a torture master like Suzuki someday. They've built them up well, and I need to look up last year's NYD to watch them raid the show now.

The energy in that crowd, they've seen all these amazing matches, and they're still going strong That's the thing that I noted when I was watching it live. It was a 6+ hour show, and the crowd didn't seem to lose an ounce of energy. A typical WWE crowd loses it's steam now about an hour into the show and doesn't seem to ever get it back. Not even for Wrestlemania. And it's not the US crowds, it's the product for sure. Being in the crowd was insane, considering there is “little atmosphere” (I quote that as it’s so respectful), the matches built to a crescendo and it had you on the edge of your seat. Even the gauntlet match (which for me was the “worst” match of the night) had my section gripped. Everyone became unglued during the finishers at the end of Okada x Naito (still bummed Naito lost, he’s top of my Fave 5)

Voted Jason Jordan because it feels more to the spirit of Wrestlecrap than the Jinder one, which while terrible feels like "this is bad booking and bad ideas" versus "this is f***ing dumb like only the worst of pro wrestling can be" This took a turn. Jason Jordan sucks so bad, he's interfering with our New Japan love.

Apparently Okada accepts SANADA's challenge as long as he accepts a challenge for the tag titles from Okada, who names Goto as his tag partner.
Alright, that sounds awesome to me.

It reminds me of how Misawa would team with Akiyama and work the tag divisions for periods in All Japan, despite being a main eventer.

Also, when Taka's music played during the Rumble and saw this young looking guy run out while the commentators mentioned him, I figured he had a son or something. When I realised it was actually him I was astounded. Someone check his attic for portraits. "It's me, Father Time. You're due for at least one wrink-.." "Taka is coming motherf***er" "Please, we go through this everyt-.." "I'M GONNA KICK YOU ASS"

Okada and Goto/EVIL and SANADA sounds fun.
Hopefully SANADA/Okada finally delivers the way I want it to. Their previous three matches (Dontaku '16, G1 26 and G1 27) have all been good but nowhere near great.

As far as SANADA/Okada goes, SANADA is a fantastic athlete, but he is missing something. His pacing is off at times and I think he's at his best when he works at full speed rather than the "tranquilo" Los Ingobernables/Naito style. It's why he works so well in tags with EVIL, as he can be the explosive guy.

Seriously I was aleady boring in NOAH when he was pushed as a quasi-ace of the Jr. division. Now he has more personality but is just as boring. So, yeah, he's torturing us.

His stuff with Tanahashi was great, probably because Tanahashi is just so damn good.

We keep saying how awesome SANADA/Evil Vs. Okada/Goto could be, until we realize that Okada and Goto could end up being double champs...

We keep saying how awesome SANADA/Evil Vs. Okada/Goto could be, until we realize that Okada and Goto could end up being double champs... How would that work? Okada always wins and Goto is a forever loser.... Do they cancel each other out?
